An inability to remember clearly, or at all, is always a useful legal strategy. Assuming you are consistent and know how to keep your mouth shut elsewhere.

The prosecution will now call the detective who took her original statement. This isn't going to be pretty....after they get done with her.

I dislike this lady intensely, but the real thieves at Merril Lynch and Goldman Sachs who put out all those worthless IPO's, charging billions in underwriting fees, are too big and powerful to go after. So they go after little Martha. The REAL thieves pumped and dumped their own shares, and are now comfortable in their 10-12 million dollar estates in the Hamptons.
The charges are way overblown in comparison also!

Just proves if you get someone in the right position mad they find a reason to prosecute you. I am sure she stepped on someone toe way before the "criminal" act.

Martha is rather well-known for being "difficult" to anyone who has to work with her.
I think some of this is due to her personality.

The witness, Mariana Pasternak, who was traveling with Stewart on a private jet the day Stewart placed her order... I get the feeling PassTheCrack won't be going on any more private jet flights with Ms. Stewart. With friends like that...
C'mon folks, the courts are stupidly broken. Never tell the truth (either in court, or to a cop).

Even if she is saying it may have been her "thought" rather than a statement by Martha, the thought had to come from "something" Martha said, i.e., the lady friend put two and two together to come up with this relative thought.
Is this classified as "thinksay" rather than "hearsay".
Can we add "tampering with witnesses" to Martha's list of "things I can do because I'm Martha".
