CHELSEA Clinton and Ian Klaus spent Valentine's weekend in Montreal keeping each other warm in the deluxe Hotel Gault. After checking in last Friday, they weren't seen emerging until Saturday night, when they braved the icy wind and made it to Buona Notte, where Chelsea sipped a Champagne cocktail and ordered seared halibut. "They wanted a romantic table. They were completely humble, obviously in love, and so incredibly polite," said a restaurant source. When asked how she knew about their restaurant, Chelsea replied: "A friend of my father's told me." Hmmmm. Maybe that was Bill's blonde friend from Canada, Belinda Stronach.

"'They were completely humble, obviously in love, and so incredibly polite,' said a restaurant source."

What a peasant response--gratitude when elites act "humble" and "polite."

Notice how Ian took her to the colder climes so she won't be trouncing around in a bathing suit again.

Personally, I find myself strangely aroused and jealous of Ian. I'm so confused.

I also find myself suddenly attracted to this man:

Ya know what? I am HAPPY for her, really, I am. Imagine being brought up in "that" family? With an obviously twisted dad, a mom who is either in denial, or dissaffected. I hope Chelsea grows up and lives a happy life. She deserves it.

Or, maybe it was to offset the pure evil flowing through her veins and make her feel warm relative to the colder clime.

I do have sympathy for poor Chelsea - Having grown up with psychopaths for parents.

Can you imagine though, ANY guy who'd consider marrying her, knowing who his mother-in-law will be???

SHUDDDDDDDDDDDDDERRRRRR!!!!!!

Either way, I think it's extremely dangerous for Chelsea to follow Triumph the puppet dog into Quebec.

Don't forget, Chelsea is being established as America's "Princess Di". Ain't that thweet.

Here she is, reviewing the loyal fleet with the rest of the royal family. True, the usurper has displaced them for a while, but they intend to return, and this time, they won't be leaving.

Never been a waiter, have you? Servers are SHOCKED to find politeness and humility in you and me, let alone the rich and notorious.

The demons are doing a great job of lowering our standards.

When I was just beginning to date, my dad told me that if I ever wanted to know what a girl would look like in 20 years, just look at her mother. Ian's dad never had that talk with him.

Good point. I certainly don't think of waiters as peasants; I just seemed to detect a little elite-worship in the comments about this couple.

Sexy Chelsea Clinton called new 'JFK Jr.'

http://www.arts.mcgill.ca/programs/history/faculty/TROYWEB/ChelseaClintoncallednewJFKJr.htm

Associated Press
May 08, 2002 02:28:54

LONDON - It's a long road from gawky adolescent to twenty-something sex symbol, but Vanity Fair magazine says Chelsea Clinton has made the transition.

The magazine pronounces the daughter of former President Bill Clinton ``the new J.F.K. Jr.,'' referring to the good-looking son of former President John F. Kennedy, killed when his private plane crashed in 1999.

In an article that exhaustively analyzes Chelsea Clinton's time at Oxford University and her previous, more sheltered life in the White House and the Arkansas governor's mansion, Vanity Fair says she's recently grown more flamboyant and more comfortable with her public profile.

The change ``has done what no one would have thought possible years ago, when Chelsea was a girl with braces in billowing Laura Ashley dresses,'' the article says. ``Chelsea Clinton has become a sex symbol.''

The story appears in Vanity Fair's June issue, which goes on sale Friday.

``Most presidents' children, they sink like stones once their parent leaves office,'' Vanity Fair quotes presidential historian Gil Troy as saying. ``But this is a different age.''

Clinton reportedly had trouble adjusting to British life when she arrived last year, writing in Talk magazine that it was ``hard to be abroad'' after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks and complaining of anti-Americanism.

Since then, she appears to have grown more comfortable, and often is photographed at hip London hangouts or with Hollywood celebrities. Her romance with American Rhodes scholar Ian Klaus is a favorite topic for tabloid newspapers.

The magazine suggested Clinton might be eyeing a future in public life. She declined to be interviewed for the story, and when asked during a photo shoot whether she had political aspirations, she said, ``I'm just trying to be a student.''
