The Dem candidates have no shame.

They are also the candidates of rhetoric only, pessimism, doom and gloom. They want to keep the people down.

Bush is a President of action, pro-action in the defense of the people, and that of optimism, who wants to lift people up.

The choice is clear.

Has it occurred to this dim-bulb Edwards that maybe the GOP going to NYC will bring in some revenue? Surely having that many people renting hotel rooms & eating tons of food will help their economy. (then again there IS the security for President Bush)

I thought the cities vied for the conventions.

Edwards: GOP Exploiting NYC's Pain

As an ambulance-chasing trial lawyer, Edwards should be an expert on the subject of exploitation.

Idiot Edwards, he knows darn well that NYC is delighted to get all that tax money, the cops to get the overtime, the local union boys to get the set-up work, the hotels to get the occupants, the cabbies to get the fares, the restaurants to get the meals....

I heard the same sort of thing when President Bush went to the WTC on 9/14, that he was exploiting it, that he was interfering with rescue efforts, etc. It's just a warped and nonsensical world view, where no matter what Republicans do, it is wrong to these people. Bloomberg is actually doing something useful for a change in disputing this nonsense.

I'll answer Edwards;

Dear Clymer;

You ridiculous party had first crack at having your convention in NYC but passed on it in favor of Boston. Only after we chose NYC and most said what a great idea it was, did your party have buyer's remorse. Go chase an ambulance.

A fire-breathing John Edwards stormed into the city Thursday and accused President George W. Bush of steering the GOP convention to New York to "exploit" the city's suffering on Sept. 11, 2001 for political gain.

John Edwards is a son of a bitch.

And I will say that to his face when I see him.

And I will take the ban for my language.

I thought this sh*t-face Breck Girl was supposed to be such a positive campaigner. He thinks he's hot stuff but the loser's not going to win squat. He'll soon join Howard on the trash heap of forgotten has-beens.

Edwards, speaking at Columbia University, said Bush is trying to give the impression he's stood by the city -- while stiffing cops and firefighters on homeland security funding.

This is literally from the Clinton playbook -- when Clinton spoke to the Democrats a few weeks ago, he suggested the Dems attack Bush on this. How has Bush stiffed cops and firefighters on homeland security funding, when there hasn't been a single cop or firefighter laid off in New York, and hiring continues as usual?

"I think the president is trying to take political advantage by having their convention here and they have not shown the kind of commitment that I believe they need to show to the city," he said.

Sleazy, ambulance-chasing son of a bitch.

As a resident of lower Manhattan -- a few blocks from the WTC site (a.k.a. the Clinton Legacy) -- I know that the government has not in any way stiffed us. And if *anyone* is using this for political advantage, it's Edwards and the 'rats.

He has no decency.

GRRRRRRRR!! Edwards is full of BULLCRAP! He is the one exploiting 9/11 on the campaign trail! He's the one who brought it up and here in NYC too!! He has some freaking nerve!! No wonder Kerry is ahead with Democreeps in NYC. He should go back to North Carolina and look for Ambulances to chase. GET THE HECK OUT OF OUR CITY!! We don't need you here to exploit 9/11. You weren't the one who came here to give us support and love right after 9/11 - it was our President Bush NOT YOU!! Where were you? I didn't see you jump on top of a fire truck to give a pep rally to the firefighters and construction workers who had the heartwrenching job of recovering bodies in the wreckage! I am soooo angry right now I can't even think straight!

Also, Thank you Mayor Bloomberg for setting the record straight on this one. This is one time I agree with you.

New York is the capital of the world. (Should that have been spelled with an "o"?) A lot of things happen in New York that are not related to 9/11. Political conventions have been going on in Madison Square Garden and it's predecessor buildings for 150 years. To say that the RNC is in NYC only because of 9/11 is insulting to both the Republicans and the city.

That said, are the Republicans required to ignore 9/11? Is any mention of that day automatically "exploitation"? How can a party form a policy for dealing with reality if they are not permitted to discuss real events in the recent past?
