What is a Troll???? I was taught as a young child that a troll is a hideous creature that live under a bridge that wants to harm children.
Apparently, there are a few subscribers to Free Republic that consider themselves the Troll Patrol.
Some authors of Posts to the Free Republic website are accused of being "Trolls". These people, whom call themselves the Troll Patrol, are trying to intimidate Americans who are wanting to express their thoughts and concerns to keep their thoughts to themsleves. This is an attempt to enforce censorship or pressure someone not to express themselves.
I would like to say to the Troll Patrol that this in not the old USSR or Nazi Germany in the 40's. This is the United States of America and we do have freedom of speech in this country.
If you want to find trolls, I suggest that you visit Sherwood Forrest there are probaly a few lurking around.
God Bless the United States and Protect Us From the Troll Patrol.

Glad I'm not the only one...
I've asked several questions along the same line, which I'm hoping to see answers for soon.

I don't recall him using those words. "Picknose" i lifted shamelessly from Christopher Hitchens.
Put Sowell's book on your list. Well worth the read.

No need to apologize -- it ain't your fault. We don't have a movie theater down here either, unless I want to walk nearly a mile each way!

Hitchens. Why am I not surprised it comes from him?

Well, someoned posted something about all the negative, horrible things Bush had done, like a list of 40 or so. And another Freeper cleverly used it to construct a list of good things he'd done, since most of the "bad" things on the original list would be considered good by a conservative.
I thought this was a good idea, but I didn't agree with everything there. After a while, and many, many replies, I started another thread with my own modified version of the "good" list, trying to carefully evaluate each Bush accomplishment, acknowledging some of them as good and some as wishful thinking, as I'm sympathetic toward but often critical of Bush. Then I made a mistake: I pinged that person and several of her friends, and tried to start a serious discussion about "that list she'd made from the liberal list," or something like that, giving her credit for the idea and everything.
Well, she was gravely offended that I thought she'd "plagiarized" her list from the liberal list or some such garbage, and she was also well connected to the Admin mods. And so I was banned for a week "for slandering another Freeper," even though I hadn't even meant it in a bad way at all.
JimRob let me back in after a couple of days, though. I think things have improved since then. I haven't had any trouble, anyway, and I have been more critical of the administration than ever before. I think we've had a few changes in middle management.

Thanks for posting this thread. It has been a lot of fun. Then again, whenever a newbie posts a vanity it is always a fun thread.

You are speeking freely. Why cant I? You are speaking as freely as I am. I don't expect Jim Robinson to have to leave everything I say or every thread I post up on his website. If he decides he doesn't want it there, he has the right to remove posts with no obligation on his part to explain or justify his actions though at times he does do so. And if he has granted authority to others to delete posts and threads, even including mine, that's well within his property rights as well.
If I can't post something here, I simply post it elsewhere. Is there some reason you can't?
