He's cut taxes in New Mexico which was hugely successful. And he sounds credible. He's one I'd worry about in the future.

Didn't we have a story posted here in the last few days that said New Mexico is looking at a state bill that would REQUIRE ALL VEHICLES (ALL- not just new vehicles or the vehicles owned by proven drunks and druggies- no matter how old the vehicles are)to have installed a device which would prevent the driver from starting the car unless they could breathe properly into this device?
Something along those lines.
Why would I consider a PRESIDENTIAL candidate who would punish 100% of the population for the infractions of less than 15% or so of the state's population? Am I having a CRS moment here? Did that story appear on Free Republic? Help me, here, FREEPERS!!

Several times. To get to the stories quickly, click on "Topics" at the top right of the browse page, and then click "New Mexico" on the list. There have been four or five posted in the past few days. New Mexico has one advantage many states don't; the state constitution limits the legislature to 30 days in even numbered years (60 days in odd numbered years). The session ended at noon today with the bill waiting to be heard in the Senate Judiciary committee. From the volume of calls senators were getting from angry constituents, I imagine it will have a hard time getting traction next year though the bill sponsor says he will try again.

that bill was generated in the NM House.

If the Gov signs it, then it's a useful tool to use against him in the future. But I think to date he has not shown to take either side in it.
