No argument here.

My wife founded and runs an animal rescue organization. The things that people are capable of doing boggles the mind.

So National Geographic Society is now the home for PETA also? To go along with ELF & ALF - why not?

I used to be a "member" until their tv shows began to spout leftist crap and ignoring true science.

They are worse than useless now since they have been proven to be be liars in many instances the past decade or two.

I love my dogs - a lot. They are my babies. If someone did something like this to my babies, and I got hold of them, they'd think the dog got off easy.

This is a big sport with illegal aliens from Mexico. Of course these are the same folks that think bull fighting is some kind of fun sport.

You are being far too kind. If I ever found out my pet were stolen for this... let's just say a pissed off, pet-loving woman with a gun (and probably PMS) would be the worst thing they'd want to deal with.

The Humane Society of the United States is not an animal rescue group and not affiliated with local humane societies - it is a radical animal rights group. I do not trust the numbers they provided - if they said it was a nice day, I'd look out a window.

Their statistics are not necessary to make what is described in this article an abomination.

Good sentiment, but it would kill them too quickly. Right side up doesn't sound as nifty, but it works better.

Absolutely...this type of stuff makes me sick. I'd love to to get some of these pieces of filth and turn some dogs on them...

My wife rescued a yellow lab off the streets here in Balto, he appeared to have been used as bait. They knocked all his teeth out, and he was missing an eye. If I ever come across the bastards who did it to the poor fellow, I'll let my doberman do the talking.

Add "extremely slowly" to the end of that and I'm with you.

P.S. This is my dog:

This is what I'd do someone who hurt her.

Scum. The Framers had it wrong. Cruel and unusual punishment should only be forbidden in crimes against the state.

Some of my neighbors, owners of two pit bulls they've been training to fight, offerred local kids bounties forcaptured animals. One kid tried to snatch my neighbor's peke-a-poo. I caught him in the act and he told me that the dog was worth ten bucks to him. We no longer have any stray cats in our neighborhood. Last summer another neighbor had her six pet rabbits stolen from their cages right off her front porch. There are missing pet signs all over the place.

Local police, humane society, and our county animal control refuse to get involved. Since the pits aren't being treated inhumanely officials don't see that there's any problem to solve.

DON'T ADVERTISE YOUR FREE PUPPIES IN THE NEWSPAPERS!
Take them to a good animal shelter in your area where
they have adoption programs which check out and also
require something of the adopters. Be sure to keep tabs
on the animals so you'll know what becomes of them. If
you find a lost animal, be very careful to validate anyone
answering any ad you might place in a newspaper. Don't let
them just claim the dog without describing it fully in
every detail. Don't put a lot of information in the ad if
you do choose this method. - - These rings of dog thieves
are not only stealing dogs, they are answering ads &
using the little dogs to bait at dog fights, or to sell to
labs, etc.

I think we should tie up the people that do this, watch them beat eachother and then have the dogs they forced to fight (if still alive) maul them to death.

"People who do this should be crucified - upside down."

Yup. This is a huge problem in Chicago. Various gangs participate in this sickness as a matter of routine "entertainment." Kids as young as nine and ten have been known to watch this sh!t. These thugs do indeed steal pets. There was an elderly woman who had a pit bull mix as a pet, having had it since it was a small pup. It was a pet. Some gangbangers stole the thing and tried to get it to fight. Witnesses said it just sat there and wagged its tail, lolled its tongue, and just acted like a regular pet. Well, these bastards didn't like that, so they set the poor thing on fire.

"Concerned by the increasing number of youths involved in dog fighting, former animal control officer Sue Sternberg decide to do something about it.
In 2002, Sternberg started Lug-Nuts, a program that encourages inner-city teens to enter their dogs in weight-pulling contests instead of fights."

For crying out loud, can't they just allow them to be pets?
Is this where we are now? We actually expend energy and resources trying to sweet talk these cretins into alternatives? We as a society are required to find a way for them to fill this vacuum in their otherwise empty lives?

My new next-door neighbor has a beautiful dog, looks to be part Husky with black rings around her eyes. I began befriending her ( the dog ) about a month after they moved in, and she would want to come to the fence but her instincts said no. She would stand there and tuck her tail so hard that she would be contorted, and she would actually pee herself !!! The urinating really disturbed me. She finally gave in to me after I bought her some treats. Now when I go in the back yard I pretend to ignore her, and she starts to howl and whine as if to say, " Here I am, over here !! ". She's a sweetheart and, if you ask me, neglected to a point. I hate seeing any animal hurt or neglected. I'd sure like to buy a .357 and go hunting for missing dogs in that town.
