(I'm a conservative and a veteran.)
Ann Coulter defends President Bush with the same crazed vigor that Glenn Close pursues Michael Douglas in the movie "Fatal Attraction." Even at the expense of a triple amputee.
Max Cleland lost an arm and both legs in Vietnam. I don't care "how" it happened. The keywords are "in Vietnam." He went. He served. He suffered.
As for Ann, someone please turn the tables and ask her if she ever went out with a professor while in college or law school. As a student, did she ever manage to magically turn a C into an A, if you know what I mean? For her to stupidly wade into Cleland's injury circumstance, and then basically mock same, speaks to a poorly developed sense of self and intellect.

I would like to have a t-shirt with this picture of Ann on also. If it ever happens, please let me know, someone. The Libs had better believe her,Ann prints only the facts and tells it like it is. I have been in love with her for some time now.

For purposes of clarification: Max Cleland really did earn a Silver Star, for rescue of some of his comrades, a mere four days before the clumsy incident with the grenade. But the universe is both a dangerous and unforgiving place, and while on a grand scale, karma does work, stupid infractions are balanced quickly. Max was given a second chance, and still bollixed it, when he entered politics years later.

Why is it the Liberals always have to make up their "decorated veterans"? Look at Kerry, his medals are tainted. 3 "band aid" purple hearts but they got him out of the combat area. He lost 2 days of duty with three wounds, how many veterans have had worse and didn't get the purple heart. Typical Liberal Democrat.

I don't care "how" it happened. The point is the Democrats are using him and his injuries and he has never used it for himself. He has always said that it was his fate.
Media elites called her a liar or she would have left it at that. They should know better. There is nothing wrong with telling the truth. She didn't mock anyone or anything. She just told the truth. Something that we are suppose to be afraid to use against the liars because they expect conservatives to back down to their lies because they have never cared whether they told the truth or not. NO, NOT THIS TIME! It is too important to ignore them any longer.
Most of the things that she wrote was a repeat of what had already been written by other papers. I guess it's okay to trash the National Guard as long as it was about Bush (even though thousands are now serving in Iraq and Afghanistan and hear what they are saying). Some of them are my friends and family and it makes me furious to listen to their crap.

I wonder how many bullets Al Hunt ever dodged? Surely that hair piece would stop most of them.

It is only a matter of time before lexis/nexis is "sanitized".
Has anyone tried to find a picture of kerry and dukakis together? Only the picture from time magazine is out on the internet.
Not one campaign button.

It isn't Ann who suddenly decided to make an issue of Cleland's war wounds in the last election cycle, it was the Dims who started whining about fraudulent charges that he was "unpatriotic". (It caused Saxby to respond that he wasn't questioning Cleland's patriotism, but his judgment; notice who brought up the topic and screamed hysterically about a non-existent charge.) You seem to be willing to overlook the patent falsity of what the Dims are saying happened to Cleland; does lying make him a hero when he wasn't?
The Dims sadly and routinely bring out their sufferers as "proof" that they are the only patriotic ones and are entitled to be anointed to positions of power. Kerry has selected Cleland as his visible compassion prop, and this pathetic, bitter revisionism of the facts does not bode well for the integrity of Kerry's strategy. Whether they are showcasing the "war wounded" Cleland or the former Superman Chris Reeves, the purpose behind using someone else's misfortune is to illustrate for everyone their own brand of "compassion", and it is particularly sickening.

" ... how many veterans have had worse and didn't get the Purple Heart."
I enlisted in '74. I heard many first-hand stories from veterans of combat injuries received ... and no Purple Hearts following. Why? Because they were minor and figuratively they just put on a band-aid, staying on the front line.
If Kerry had kept his Swift boat crew busy maintaining the condition of his vessel, maybe he wouldn't have suffered from "splinters".

As everyone here knows, pointed out so perfectly by El Rushbo, the democrats need to feed their partners in crime by deciding on a universal term that is then used to create the illusion that there is a common realization among the press of a real problem.....
When this was used in a simpler news world, it looked like everyone came upon the thought innocently and the folks at home were fooled...
The media whores who support this criminal manipulation designed to look like "truth" have been eviserated by the 24 hour news cycle that sees the "word of the year" coming up way to often to be just a coincedence.....it becomes clear that this is an organized ploy of unscruplous people that are willing to do anything to regain the power they've lost
Welcome to credibility
The strongest point in GWB's arsenal is that people believe him and trust him, (unlike the bozo who last occupied the White House) so of course, the democrats see that this must be attacked.....
The problem with gravitas in the past, and credibility now is that it gets driven into the ground by so many different media types and dem politicians, that it becomes clear to the folks at home that this isn't anything more than a campaign message, and it gets ignored becausethey do not like being manipulated.
Then the democrats walk around after the election wondering what happened and why there are now more GOP senators than before.....
Until they get rid of the terry's and the beasts, they are doomed
Just like the jobs lie.....America is changing and the jobs aren't being lost, more and more Americans are moving into the work force as Self Employed, possibily the coolest way to work....the democrats just leave out the fact that by measuring housholds instead of payrolls we are gaining not loosing, and for not making this point LOUDER I blame the RNC, not the crooks on the other side....
Come on Ed...you've started strong, now lets grow a pair and attack the same way.....
And this year's word for the GOP, to be used everywhere, should be LIARS

This is just an assumption, but Ann Coulter probably wasn't writing to you and your feelings on the matter.
She was writing for the record, and how that record was being "re-invented" for political gain.
With all due respect to your feelings, her mission was accomplished.
