My precious Prayer Warriors,
Once again, we need your help and love. I had to admit Norman to the hospital yesterday.
I don't understand why, because he seemed to be doing much better. His attitude was terrific, we had a peace, and I was able to get more food in him.
But when he had the biopsy, he began with immediate severe pain, sweats, and more labored breathing. Yesterday when he got up he told me he didn't know whether it was morning or night and he couldn't remember our daughter's name. So I prayed all the while he was napping to get guidance. When Norm woke up, I couldn't get him out of bed. He was coherent, but in so much pain he couldn't sit up.
I called 911 and got him in the hospital. They kept him in ICU until 2:am, then moved him into a room.
Today, he's having a hard time breathing. The surgeon said he couldn't operate because they'd found several pockets of fluid and couldn't see the mass thru the fluid.
So they're taking him in tomorrow..Thurs...to drain the liquid. He also said that the results of the biopsy showed probable cancer cells. They have to get his breathing stabilized before they can operate.
He needs all of us to keep him lifted up..he's too weak to fight. Please, pray for us.
At this point I don't know what to think. The Lord seems to be saying to not be afraid and speaks thru His word of victory.
I'm just so broken-hearted, I can't seem to stay up where I need to be. The thought of losing him is just more than I can bear. How do you lose the biggest and best part of your soul and survive?
Please, stay strong in prayer for us.
In His Love, EW

Prayers sent for Norman, and for you. This is a tough one, and whatever happens will be tough on you. But as St. Peter, that most human of apostles, said:
And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. To him be the dominion forever and ever. Amen. (1 Peter 5:10-11)
God will be with you, EW, and He'll be with Norman.

Heavenly Father, we return to give You thanks that You have promised to be with Your children through the deepest valleys. Make Your presence so very real to Norman and Eternal Warming as they walk where they do not want to go ... help them as they take each step. Touch Norman with Your healing hand ... ease his breathing ... manifest Yourself in the surgeon's skills, that Norman would begin to regain. May the beauty of Your words echo within the hearts of this devoted couple ... let them draw upon Your strength and the comfort of Your children as we lift them in prayer before the Throne of Grace. In the Name of Jesus, I pray, Amen ...

I'm just so broken-hearted, I can't seem to stay up where I need to be. The thought of losing him is just more than I can bear. How do you lose the biggest and best part of your soul and survive? Dear Lord, I know You are with this woman and her husband in their hour of need. Please comfort them, guide them, and help them as only You know best. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Thank you, Lord, for the gift of prayer.
I know how you feel, and it's OK to feel that way. I feel the same way about my own situation. Sometimes it's hard to see how life will be worth living once my wife is gone. Sometimes it's even hard for me to pray. The Lord has been with me even then, just as He is with you now.
The Bible has a lot to say about death, including that it is not the end. Sometimes I think of it as similar to birth.
Something that runs through my head at the darkest times is:
Ye though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
I will fear no evil
For Thou art with me.
Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me
.......
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life
And I shall dwell in the House of the Lord forever.
I'm sure you know the rest. Your husband shall dwell in the House of the Lord forever, and so shall you.
BTW: Until you've "been there" it's hard to know how you feel right now. My wife of 30 years and mother of our 4 children has multiple myeloma, an incurable and 100% fatal cancer of the immune system. It lives in the bones and causes LOTS of bone damage. She was diagnosed so late that she was in the hospital, almost dead, before they even knew what it was. She had a 50/50 shot at 3 months. She was 46. Our youngest was in the 8th grade. That was 3 1/2 years ago. We are hoping that she will see him graduate from high school.
The time we were given has been very precious, not least because we both know we will dwell in the House of the Lord forever. It looks like she will get there before I do, but that's OK. I will miss her terribly, but it's only temporary.

Keep listening. Prayers are being said right now for you and Norman. We ask God to heal Norman, and bring him comfort and peace of mind. We ask for your peace of mind, your strength in coping with your fears.
In Jesus' name I pray.
