I have often said this before on other threads. In any political confrontation between friends, it is always the democrats who start it. I deal with this with family and friends. It is ALWAYS the democrats.

I haven't decided if they are inherently rude, or whether it is sort of like dopers trying to get others to imbibe.

That is soooo true.

I have known this woman for years. I am trying to keep her friendship. I think she needs me -- she is not in good health.

I've asked her many times not to talk politics, but she can't resist getting digs in. Usually I just change the subject.

But, I'm getting tired of taking it, particularly for this President, whom I love.

BTW, the best article I've ever seen (which I printed out to send her - ha) is the one by Byron York for National Review entitled Case Closed.

Now I'm off to find an article on Kerry ... should I do his traitorous post Viet Nam stuff or his little amorous adventures -- they haven't been proved, but who cares?

Interesting thought . . . my mother-in-law is constantly baiting me . . . told me yesterday she thought John Edwards was cute . . . I said, "You better be voting for Bush." and she shut up, at least temporarily.

She is a member of the "everyone is a victim. . . anything is OK . . ." club. At one time we had a 'discussion' about homosexual priests in the Episcopalian church. She couldn't understand what the 'big deal' was. I showed her the verses in the Bible--Old Testament and New--that were very clear. All she could say was, "What does the King James Version say?" (BTW, KJV says it's a sin, too!)

Anyway, presenting them with the facts, like sending your friend articles, in written form, is the only way to declare at least a temporary halt to the bashing. Good luck!

That is SO true! I can only assume that at some point in their lives they became democrats and then never bothered to learn anything more. Except that as democrats they read what Hillary et al have to say and think, "YES, I'm a Dem, and I BELIEVE."

It's pathetic!
