A DAY IN THE LIFE OF PRESIDENT BUSH (PHOTOS): 2.18.04

The President met with Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali in the Oval Office of the White House to discuss regional security and diplomatic issues. (Geography refresher: Tunisia is in North Africa, borders eastern Algeria and is SW of Italy, across the Mediterranean; the CIA wrote recently, "Tunisia has taken a moderate, non-aligned stance in its foreign relations.")

Laura Bush visited students and educators at Limerick Elementary School in the Canoga Park area of Los Angeles, promoting literacy. Mrs. Bush encouraged students to read more than they watch television.

And on a "know your opponents" note: the democrats continue to run in Circles of Confusion, today's version of Dante's Divine Comedy: The Inferno.

Enjoy your Dose of W, and welcome to Sanity Island!

Ask the White House: "NASCAR's Michael Waltrip answered your questions about NASCAR and the Daytona 500"

Good info about President Bush:

"The standard rap against Bush is that he was ducking combat by joining the Guard. Actually, the Texas Air Guard had a program called Palace Alert that allowed pilots to volunteer for flight time in Vietnam. Three of Bush's fellow pilots—Udell, Woodfin and Fred Bradley—recalled to NEWSWEEK that Bush inquired with the base commander about signing up for Palace Alert. He was told no; he had too few flying hours at the time and his plane, the F-102, was by then deemed obsolete for air combat."

The Tunisian president looks like a good poker player. And Condi should eat better. Condi and Ann Coulter could borrow each other's clothes:)

Ask your friend why is it the terrorists are hoping a Democrat wins the White House?

Dear, dear MamaB,

I've been praying for you every morning. It's the only thing that can possibly help, but it won't be easy.

I've been going through a LITTLE something with my dear daughter lately which makes me sad, but then I think of you and kick myself cause after all I still have her.

We should all thank God for our children. You were such a good mother, at least you'll never have to feel guilty.

***I haven't decided if they are inherently rude, or whether it is sort of like dopers trying to get others to imbibe.****

Interesting thought . . . my mother-in-law is constantly baiting me . . . told me yesterday she thought John Edwards was cute . . . I said, "You better be voting for Bush." and she shut up, at least temporarily.

She is a member of the "everyone is a victim. . . anything is OK . . ." club. At one time we had a 'discussion' about homosexual priests in the Episcopalian church. She couldn't understand what the 'big deal' was. I showed her the verses in the Bible--Old Testament and New--that were very clear. All she could say was, "What does the King James Version say?" (BTW, KJV says it's a sin, too!)

Anyway, presenting them with the facts, like sending your friend articles, in written form, is the only way to declare at least a temporary halt to the bashing. Good luck!

I think what really bugs me is when people say our President used to guard to avoid danger while Kerry volunteered for the swift boats to put himself in harm's way. He was actively trying to avoid combat, although he did behave bravely once he was placed in combat.

I'd give your friend a copy of Kerry's testimony before Congress in 1971 where he accused his fellow soldiers of horrendous atrocities on a daily basis with the full knowledge of every level of command!

Isn't it disgusting how they put political gamesmanship above national security? Can you imagine this kind of warped nit-picking during WWII?

I miss him too. He was so cute! And so good with the press, so patient. Haven't seen much of Scott Mc.C--are they still televising the news conferences every day?

Yes indeed he was, and I very seldom watch the press conference now if they have any. I turn my TV off when they even mention the Rats
