BAGHDAD, Iraq - Two suicide bombers tried to drive explosives-laden trucks into a Polish-run base south of Baghdad, but coalition forces opened fire, triggering blasts that killed at least 11 Iraqi civilians and wounded dozens, including more than 30 coalition soldiers, officials said.
More than 64 people were injured in the blasts, including at least 31 Iraqis, 12 Filipinos, 10 Poles, 10 Hungarians and an American, officials said. Polish Gen. Mieczyslaw Bieniek, commander of the 9,500-strong Polish military contingent, called it a "well coordinated terrorist attack."

They thought it would be easy, well they were wrong!! Thanks to the Mongolian soldiers- they were guarding Camp Charlie and they opened fire causing vehicles to explode outside the base.

"12 Filipinos, 10 Poles, 10 Hungarians and an American"
No international support for the operation whatsoever. /sarcasm.

These brave soldiers, our allies, are the people John Edwards recently referred to as window dressing.

Where is the outcry that these murderers killed Iraqis? Are Iraqis caught in a quagmire? Shouldn't Iraqis pull out?

No. I don't think they did fail. They managed to kill themselves and a bunch of Iragis. I'm guessing the article thinks they "failed" because no coalition personel were killed.

If Bush only would have made this a multinational effort this never would have happened....

that's why I've written "in a way". With 700KG of explosives it's a miracle that they didn't kill any of our soldiers.

But where are the "heavy hitters"? Ya know? The mighty French and Germans??? If all the countries in the world are listed but France and Germany it ceases to be multinational...you see?

French are used to letting their allies down...1939 for example...

"Failed Suicide Attack"?Sounds like the suicide went off without a hitch.
To: kaiser80
O.K. Polish troops are quicker on the trigger, but no one puts up yellow crime scene tape, better than american troops after one of these suicide bombings.
