but if Bush DOES lose, the idea of having Edwards as Prez for four years is far less horrifying that Kerry..

Oh, I totally agree. One should wait until election day and get out there and vote.
It is too darn easy to vote early now. It used to be absentee ... that was fine, if one was going to be "absent" but now it's just convenience, or my mother-in-law who was always afraid she was "going to be sick."

Scrutiny taking its toll on John F. Kerry ("Just For Kerry"). News Max (www.newsmax.com) all over Kerry for his support of Hanoi and the damage done to US POWs by Kerry's testimony to the Fulbright Committee in 1971. Also, the Chinese funding scandal that hit Gore also hitting Kerry. See:http://www.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2004/2/17/160734.shtml Edwards gain reflects Kerry under pressure as "front runner." Kerry's star looks a lot less bright under the spotlight.

Amazing how simplistic the media is. BIG DEAL. Kerry wins by a whisker, who knows, it could shift back. The thing is, Edwards gets delegates, Kerry got a bad black eye because he was supposed to win by a LANDSLIDE. Instead, a mere 300 voters separate the two top min with a 1/3rd of the vote in. A GREAT EDWARDS win.
Matt Drudge had an IMMENSE effect in slowing down Kerry, despite the spin they will place on it.

In this case it might be Drudge's fault.
I hope Drudge has his double-locks on tonite.

If Edwards can stop Kerry, then Hitlery will unload dirt on Edwards and claim the nomination by acclimation in Boston.Edwards won his senate seat when Clinton was in power. A rare thing to do with Clinton in power and with Clinton only caring about himself and not about the D seats in congress.
I always suspected that Edwards cut some sort of deal and that he is actually on the Clinton team.
We'll see.

I don't think Dean is gonna drop out and/or endorse anyone. In the larger states, the Dean vote would more likely gravitate to Kerry than to Edwards. Simply put, Kerry is more liberal than Edwards.
I think Dean staying in the race helps Edwards more than it helps Kerry, but that is just my opinion.

I think this hurts him in the long run. Absolutely right, Edwards will spin this as a big victory, one that will put him on the way to the nomination. It will be interesting to see what Kerry has to say, after failing to administer the coup de grace.
To: redlipstick
Exactly my thoughts.
Certainly no cakewalk or coronation!
To: Dan from Michigan
The White House does not want to run against EdwardsMaybe not, but if the White House can't handle either Kerry or Edwards then I'm concerned. Kerry has lots of baggage and Edwards is a rich trial lawyer with no military experience, which the Dems and media are so hung up on. Plus, Edwards is better at being critical than solving those alleged problems.
To: ambrose
The idea of Bill Klinton coming back scares me less than John F'n Kerry winning. Hell, I'd rather have Hitlery(Bill bugs me worse) than JF'nK.

"The Southerners never treated me badly or rudely. They just were super-polite as if I were something strange and foreign."
If you are not treated super-polite by a stranger in the south, you are probably not dealing with a Southerner. We get a lot of Yankees down here, escaping from the North.Takes them a while to relax and get used to civility.
Sometimes they say yes sir and no ma'am a bit more stilted than the rest of us.But they all eventually catch on, given enough time.
Except for Canadians and Yankee Democrats. ;^)

Wasn't it reported that Clinton called Edwards and told him to stay in the race?

Don't think dean will drop out...He wants to have some pull at the convention....Don't expect anyone to get enough delegate votes to win on first ballot.
