"Our differences occurred when we were kids, or at least close to being kids." - John Kerry

I've got news for you, KerryBoy.

I am exactly your age and was in Vietnam at the same time. I didn't consider (or excuse) my subsequent words and actions through evasion by flipantly referring to myself as a "kid". That's because I never did anything I was ashamed of. Neither did some of my good friends, the same age and younger, who either never came home, or came home in a casket or on a Medevac to a crippled life.

These are the "men". You are the "kid" - or maybe "punk" would be a more accurate name?

Gritty - I'm with everything you say in Post #44. I was there in 70 at age 18 and I hate everything Kerry stands for. I would like to court martial his arse and put him in the brig for life.

I was in my early teens when the Vietnam War was going on.

I know that Hanoi Jane made her radio announcement in Hanoi but how many times did she went on Hanoi radio to broadcast pro-communist/anti-american propaganda to our troops? Was she like Tokoyo Rose? Did you see any of her FTA shows? A neighbor said he's voting for Kerry and he is a Vietnam Vet. He thinks Kerry was looking out for his fellow Veterans. He thought Kerry did the right thing after he got out of the Navy and became a anti-war protestor. He felt Kerry was protecting our troops lives by speaking up. Someone had to do it because the war in Vietnam was mismanagement by our government and the war was going on too long. He really admires this man's leadership. It was the only way out and the American citizens needed to know what was really happening. Did Kerry save lives with anti-war protest? It's pretty hard talking reason to my neighbor. Why would a Vietnam Veteran support Kerry?

A lot of men feel as you do. This issue crosses a line. We might as well have found out that Kerry was a member of the KKK in the 60's.
