Did anyone watch NightLine tonight. It was about Mexican Illegals and they highlighted workers in Las Vegas.
They were saying Bush's plan doesn't give any amnesty or citizenship to Mexicans who come here to work.
They basically said they come to work and have to go home?
Is this true?

They also had the bleeding hearts on saying we need to give illegals citizenship and all that but the part that was interisting was the underground illegals that employers hire. It made a good case for getting them on the books eventhough they are illegal?

From the RNC website:
o Fair and Meaningful Citizenship Process: Some temporary workers will want to remain in America and pursue citizenship. They should not receive an unfair advantage over those who have followed the law, and they will need to be placed in line for citizenship behind those who are already in line. Those who choose the path of citizenship will have an obligation to learn the facts and ideals that have shaped Americas history.

Check out Lou Dobbs on CNN each night. He tells the truth about illegal immigration and outsourcing.

Lou Dobbs says pretty much the same that Pat Buchannan does on illegal immigration. Tune him in and you'll learn something that will make you question your current views.

American citizenship is one of the most precious things on Earth.
To reward those who ignore and break our laws with that gift is a travesty.
All the spinning in the world won't hide the fact that the original trial balloon, if carried into fact, would have done just that.
Official Washington is moving away from that at a break-neck clip, but not nearly fast enough for me, personally.

We've got them on the run, let's keep up the pressure. Faster please (as Michael Ladeen says).

Trial balloon? The plan does not seem to be changed after the initial announcement in early January:
0000
I think a lot of people overreacted, either by not listening to what the President proposed, or by hearing "amnesty", when the President said his proposal was NOT an amnesty. Once again, President Bush allowed himself to be the recipient of hostility from his 'base' while the topic of addressing the situation of illegals was brought to the front burner.
At the same time, he positioned himself, and the probable Republican platform next summer, on the proposition that America can handle foreign workers which will be a separate category from immigrant/permanent resident. When the dims scream for amnesty and citizenship for unlawful entrants to the US, the republicans can say "our plan does not support giving permanent status to lawbreakers.

Who's gonna make sure they go home?We
can't won't do it now,so what makes you think we're going to send them back after their work visa expires? The answer is : They won't go home.If they have no problem breaking the law by being here now, they're not going start abiding by the law in the future. There's nothing in it for them.
I predict most will still be working under the radar screen, while more will be coming into this country at an increased rate.By the time word gets to everyone in ol' Mexico, the story will have changed so many times that they will be expecting complete amnesty.(You now how stories get twisted when passed from one person to another)
It's going to be hard to find and remove these folks once they get here. Then everyone will be saying the same thing they're all saying now."We can't round up everyone and deprt them" or "What do you want to do?Load them all on boxcars and ship them back?" or "They're just doing the work Americans refuse to do" or "Do you suggest going house to house and forcing people out of their homes?"(Not direct quotes, but I've heard all of this on this very forum.
Prepare for a flood folks, because if this deal goes through, the gates will be opened even more.

ROFLOL, this is rich, now you have all developed amnesia? Or do you hope everyone else has? The "guest" gets a permit for three years, then he gets a permit for another three years and a green card, he is put on the fast track for citizenship.
I can't believe Bush would give a speech and ya'll wouldn't tune in to hang on every word. What is not mentioned, is any way is how to inforce or maintain control over any of it, and no mention is made of any control of the borders. That means amnesty for the illegals here, and amnesty for the rest of the millions upon millions, upon millions of invaders to come.
All this squid of legislation does is suck in more illegals at a more super sonic pace and make them legit. Bush cut the budget for the border patrol, but, I'm sure you all know that already.
That you would have faith in any government program proposed means your wiring is messed up. Does the INS function as intended? Can it lay it's hands on the 300,000+ with deportation orders against them? It takes a real nit wit to believe that enforcement or control over millions and millions and millions of "guests" has a snowball chance in hades of being doable.
