I wonder how much those two votes cost.

The press is reporting the denial of something which the press didn't report to begin with?
It makes my head hurt.

So? This proves nothing except that we need to keep looking into the matter. If it's fair to keep grilling Dubya on his Guard duty, it's fair to keep grilling Kerry on this.

"...Because these stories were false, I assumed the media would ignore them." Why would you assume that?
BTW: Is it possible this denial of hers is a very subtle way of telling old Horseface that he needs to start Enzyte treatments?

"We have spoken to our daughter and the allegations that have been made regarding her are completely false and unsubstantiated. We love and support her 100 percent and these unfounded rumors are hurtful to our entire family. We appreciate the way Senator Kerry has handled the situation, and intend on voting for him for president of the United States."
Didn't take them long to drink the koolaid.

I have never had a relationship with Senator Kerry, Okay, Alexandra...you're a saint. And, your father is a liar.
Do I have this right?

"For the last several days I have seen Internet and tabloid rumors relating to me and Senator John Kerry. Because these stories were false, I assumed the media would ignore them. It seems that efforts to peddle these lies continue, so I feel compelled to address them."
Er, so the Kerry campaign's claims to have a letter from her denying it was a LIE?

cover up.
To: Beck_isright
What's interesting is that now the media is covering her "denial" - they'll have to start covering the story. (Rush reading AP story)
It's most interesting is that these denials, letters and this one, are all in writing, is it not?
To: Beck_isright
This whole story is stupid, and we should leave it alone. Kerry is unelectable for much more substantial reasons than this.
To: Beck_isright
This story looks like a setup, a screen pass if you will to work against an aggressive opponent.

Refresh my memory -- I don't recall Drudge ever naming a particular person. I think I recall the name being raised by other sources. I could be wrong, but if not, and considering the report that other media have been working on the story, that would mean that there is still something to this -- it just doesn't involve Ms. Polier.
Anybody?

OK, I found this thread.
Good grief.

Notice there is no outrage. no slander or libel suits being filed.

We have spoken to our daughter and the allegations that have been made regarding her are completely false and unsubstantiated Does anyone else see what's missing?
Only the allegations regarding her are false. They left out Senator Kerry in that. I think that is deliberate. He's still a sleazeball in their minds and hopefully we'll find out why. They didn't want to exonerate him, only their daughter.

This story was a setup from moment one, and Drudge (as well as others) fell for it.
There will be more of these traps laid for us in the future, too.
On the bright side, it points out the power of the alternative internet media...that a story that was never covered by the mainstream American press warrants a *denial* in that same mainstream press.

Amazing how many votes money can buy. They went from calling him a sleazeball to voting for him?
To: Beck_isright
Rush just brought up a very interesting point. Why would the the father of Ms. Polier say at the end of his statement that he was going to vote for Kerry for President. This does not sound like a father, who called Kerry a sleaseball, just a few days ago. Reads more like a PR release from the Kerry camp. You have to wonder if this is not the end of the story. Maybe the Polier's were made an offer they could not refuse.
