The release of the girl's statement today, after some UK papers wrote yesterday that a TV interview had been done leads me to believe that some serious negotiating went on last night, and the I don't think the Kerry's were calling the shots. You called it, IMHO. Alex is playing Kerry like a fiddle.

"You must understand that there are TWO AND A HALF GENERATIONS who don't even know who Jane Fonda is..."And in a post 9/11 world, those generations are going to be appalled to learn that Fonda went to Vietnam as a "nonviolent" peacenik only to wind up sitting on Communist anti-aircraft guns as they tracked (fired on?!) U.S. aircraft...and then they are going to be horrified to learn that she physically turned in to the Communists the American POW who tried to get her to pass an uncensored message back to the U.S. during her North Vietnam visit.
The wheels are about to fall off of the mythical 60's vehicle that the liberals have been riding in for four decades. The deeds that they have papered over and managed to get us all to ignore are about to be put up for national debate, and I'm confident that they won't fare very well when this happens.

"So why didn't she stay home and say this?"
And isn't it a little strange that they've been over there since last October? Who voluntarily goes to visit their future in-laws and stays 5-6 months at a time?
To: Mr.Atos
I agree with you 100%. And I'm glad to see the RNC and the Bush/Cheney campaign staying away from this.
To: Beck_isright
How many here will agree with me that she was "planted" as the person Kerry had an affair with? This way, they can both issue denials, and the press can go about their merry-Kerry way, completely shirking their responsibility to get to the truth.

"I still believe that the woman in Kerry's life who will bring him down is Jane Fonda and they're on the record hatred of the military and the USA."
Not so fast.
Didn't you see reports that the photo was DOCTORED?
Yes...I know we're talking about two different photographs, but what do you think the casual voter believes at this point?
That either the genuine Fonda photo was doctored, or any photo that DOES surface that might hurt their guy is bogus.

I'n not sure Kerry has to prove anything, anymore than Clintoon did. Without the blue dress, the Monica story would have faded away..?
To: Beck_isright
Because these stories were false, I assumed the media would ignore them
This from someone who is of the media???
To: Alissa
Why would they be calling Rush to get his reaction to a denial from the Polier woman.
I tell you something stinks.

Hear, hear. Let's crush the liberal puke on his dangerous-for-America positions and policies, not for tabloid pablum that most Americans ignore.

I think when we start seeing protesters at Kerry's photo-ops with placards containing quotes from his testimony calling American soldiers murderers and worse, it will matter.
There are a lot of servicemen and their families who will gladly educate this generation about Ms Fonda and Mr Kerry's past behavior.
Regardless of what the DNC thinks, the Presidential campaign is not over!

I think that bugged me about Bill Clinton more than anything else - all the time and money he wasted because he couldn't see his way to honoring his marriage vows. Just a huge waste of time for all involved.
Don't think it was Clinton that spent all the money on independent investigations. Not defending the man, but it just sounded invalid and strange to say that it was his fault all the money was spent on the issue.

I bet they wish the Repubs bit on this set up more. Kerry did his best to blame it on them. Do they have one statement from a single Republican that rises to the level of McAwful's AWOL charge? I bet not.

I have established, from reliable sources, that Matt Rosenberg, the author of this story, is based in Nairobi AND HAS BEEN A FRIEND OF ALEX POLIER FOR SEVERAL YEARS. This may not be surprising -- she wanted to confide in a friend -- but perhaps it is telling
