President Bush made his way to Daytona International Speeway today, where he was honored with starting the race. Air Force One touched down on a near-by airstrip after doing a fly-by for the thousands of NASCAR fans in attendance. The President's motorcade then made a trip around the oval before heading to Pit Row, where the President greeted many of the drivers. Bush also took time to greet some fans in the stands. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

Did you see on TV, the billboard where a Captain in Iraq, sent his wife a Valentine's Greeting? They had the soldier and his wife on. The Captain wanted to do something special for his wife and had found out the billboard was available and the normal cost would be $6,000. When the owner of it found out what the Captain wanted to do, he gave it to him for free. It was such a neat story. It was on at the end of John Kaisich's "Heartland" this weekend. Fox hooked them up and let them talk to each other.

I clicked the link, found the video, and got only a RealPlayer screen with static photos, no video.

I had problems, too. (In my case, it told me that I don't have Real Audio installed. WRONG! I hate Real Audio, but it's installed ... for those times it's the only game in town.) ;)

If anyone knows of a site that has the NASCAR video of our president in Windows Media Player or Quick Time, please post the link. (I just checked rushlimbaugh.com; he doesn't have anything there yet. Maybe tomorrow....)

Direct quote from CNN's website: The president got a much warmer reception than Bill Clinton did when he visited a NASCAR race as a candidate in September 1992. At the time, Clinton was dogged by the question of his lack of Vietnam-era military service.

At the Southern 500 race in Darlington, South Carolina, Clinton was booed and heckled by fans, many shouting "draft dodger!" at him.

As Bush strode through Daytona's pit road, he received rock-star treatment. An extravaganza unfolded around him.

MamaB, I think the vision you had of Jan is very real. I've had them after people I love have died, usually right after, but they are meant to give you assurance and comfort. That dream HAD meaning. She's telling you SHE'S FINE! But even though we know where our loved ones are, their passing leaves a huge void in our lives. One day the sting of her death will not be as intense. You WILL make it through. The first holidays and anniversaries are the most difficult. Better, more peaceful times are ahead for you.

I remember that .. but for some reason I thought it was a different race

Oh well, must be old age creeping up on me

I'll have to ask Mr. Mo1 if he still has that race on tape
