No time for affair with Kerry (Alexgate)
The Australian ^ | 2/16/04 | Misha Schubert

SHE has the perkiness of a cheerleader and the ambition of a Hollywood starlet, but it's hard to believe Alexandra Polier ever had an affair with US Democratic presidential frontrunner John Kerry.

For one thing, at the time my former journalism school classmate was supposed to be sharing intimate moments with the senator, she was working up to 80 hours a week on student assignments and dating one of our classmates.

If she had time to manage an affair as well, that would have made her one hell of an overachiever.

The former Associated Press reporter, a 27-year-old brunette, made headlines around the world yesterday after the story of an alleged affair appeared on the website of conservative Matt Drudge.

Drudge suggested Polier had "recently fled the country, reportedly at the prodding of Kerry" after a two-year affair that began in early 2001. But no hard evidence has emerged that Kerry cheated with Polier, who is reportedly in Kenya, or with anyone else.

Her parents, Terry and Donna Polier, told The Sun in London that they had no knowledge their daughter had an affair with Kerry. They said he had asked her to join his campaign staff a couple of years ago but she declined.

In the Columbia Journalism School yearbook published in May 2002, Alexandra Polier was voted one of the graduates "most likely to be sent an anthrax letter" in their reporting career - although it's unclear if this should be interpreted as malice or flattery.

But it was her ambition that caught the eye. In 10 years, she predicted, she would be "having babies and covering wars".

The affair took place when Alex was at Clark, not Columbia.

I assume that he has records to back this up.

Why isn't the US media wondering why this women left New York city for Kenya?????? There is apparently some link between Kerry and this young lady, it is a legitimate question to ask. Not too many journalist just go into hiding.....I would bet she is the first....

Isn't it funny how the liberals are refusing to report when and where Alex interned for Kerry? All they talk about are her graduate school days at Columbia U. in NYC, but nothing about her undergrad days at Clark U. in Worchester, Mass. No questions about how and when they met and why he offered her a job on his campaign.

It might be that he was harassing her and/or dating another young intern that Alex might be covering for. Hopefully, not all pretty young girls aren't as stupid as Monica.

Records, time cards, and at least 1000 witnesses to attest to her whereabouts. I want credit card slips and phone records plus her dental checkups and pelvic exams.

And they can swear on a stack of bibles, bring in the Rev. Jackson, and release everything else, and I will still believe

that John F.(ing) Kerry was boffing this girl for a couple of years.

It's also amazing how the liberal press circles the wagons around their candidates when questions arise. When it comes to a Republican, though, they will turn over heaven and hell to try to get a story.

It's likely that he nailed her when she worked for him when she was an undergrad at Clark U. in Worcester, Mass. She broke it off and moved to NYC to go to Columbia. And the Botox boy missed her and offered her a job on his campaign and she turned him down. And it looks like he didn't accept her decision like a gentleman.

If you ask me, the whole story was a plant to embarass republicans. Those few in the mainstream who have even mentioned this have consistently said "conservative Drudge", when it was Clark's aid who leaked the info.

Monica was nothing but a smokescreen. Quite likely Alex is too.

Funny how she left out the part about Alex's father saying that Kerry is a "sleazeball"...

The DUmmies are in a PANIC MODE over this situation. A lot of them believe that Kerry has ruined their chances of beating Bush. Here is some sample DUmmie commentary:

Kerry will be out in 2 weeks if this sticks and it will...

Bring back "Mean Dean", the press can't beat him down with scandals, they can ridicule him for speaking out but they can't fault him for his policy or personal life. It's not too late....

If the man really uses women, this will question his morality and fitness to be president. This is how the media and BushCo. will portray it. Kerry should come clean NOW, don't wait until after the nomination.

You know what, if this is true and this was in recent history then I will have to say he is a complete fool to have attempted to run a campaign for President. I truly hope this can be put to rest very very soon and I hope that he is telling the truth about this issue.

What is the deal with these old guys? They can't find a discreet 40 year old mistress who doesn't work for them? Out of the whole damned world, they have to choose to have affairs with their 20 year old employees?

I'm not willing to excuse this behavior this round. This election is too important. Show your stuff Kerry, whether true or not, or just get out of the way. We all knew these attacks were coming.

Why would Clark say that about Kerry "imploding" than then endorse him the very next day? I don't believe he ever said it.

I think it is very possibly true.....He's always tried to be on both sides of the isseues....I DON"T TRUST HIM....I' a Deanie.

It may finish Kerry yet.

Hold on. Keep calm. Don't panic.

Oh. Screwing ANOTHER intern or engaging in sexual harassment is perfectly acceptable by a man running for the presidency . -- NOT!!!!

Let's see. That would be Jennifer Flowers and Paula Jones moment, wouldn't it?
Hanoi Kerry is a dirty old man.

Thanks.

Do you know anything about a remark from a female friend of Polier who stated (paraphrase) that this is not about an affair but about somethimg "far more nasty"?

I read this in one of the international press posts on FR in the last day or two.
