I have been in the Guard for almost 12 years. It is not uncommon for someone who is going to school or having some type of employer training to miss 6 to 8 months of Guard Duty. The National Guard means you are a citizen warrior. Two years ago we had a young man who went for training to become a U.S. Park Ranger. He missed about 8 months of drill duty but made them up.

In the Guard, unless you are at war or activated by a presendital call up, you are only in the military on your weekend of the month or your two week annual training. We realize in the Guard that your civilain employer pays most of your bills and we try to accomodate you so that you can progress in you civilian endevors.

It may be possible that Presidnet Bush missed a few drills tyring to secure his political future and there is nothing wrong with that as long as he had permission to miss from his superiors in the Guard.

We must stand behind President Bush and give him the support and dedication that he deserves.

The press is just too effing stupid to get it, and the conservative pundits are just to dumb to take advantage on the air. All the libs are finding guy who can't remember (after thirty years and out of 800 guys) seeing bush.

The important thing is that there is no one who remembers Bush being disciplined for being absent. Not one commander, not one soldier, not one piece of paper.

Ask any schoolteacher. Do you remember the kids who follow the rules, or do you remember the discipline problems?
