It is another thing to suggest the unprovoked killing of 3,000 innocent people -- ANYWHERE -- could be the target of humor. To my knowledge, there is no analagous event in Canadian history. Also, many Canadians were killed on 9/11. These Canuks really take themselves seriously if this is the analogy they with to propose.

If I were to come up with a conspiracy theory, it is that Canadian leadership is distancing itself from America because they are WELL aware of the threat that Al Qaida poses to Canada. After all, some of the 9.11 hijackers entered the United States from Canada.

If they don't want to receive terrorist strikes, they may be trying to distance themselves from George W. Bush.
