Might make their case stronger if they did apply for citizenship.

As to your friends, hope they becomes assimilated citizens. Need good ones.

Because the US constitution and citizenship laws recognize universal, nonconditional ius soli, i.e, you're an American citizen if you're born in US soil, no matter what's your parents' citizenship/immigration status.

I think you'd vying for what's law in the Czech Republic: Ius soli and ius sanguinis have to apply, i.e, you're a Czech citizen if you're born in Czech territory and your parents must be Czechs.

I hope that this is a turning point for Scandanavia. They have a unique, interesting culture, and I hope that they rescue it from the stranglehold of self-destructive Socialism.

I believe the courts have interpreted the 14th Amendments "jurisdiction" clause poorly. Someone here illegally is by definition not "subject to the jurisdiction" of the nation and/or state in which they reside, and therefore any children they have by extension are likewise not, and therefore cannot be considered citizens. The courts have found that the children of diplomats are not citizens, and I believe that illegals, being officially subject only to the laws of their home countries, should be likewise considered.

the citizens of these corrupt dictatorships return to those countries and make trouble for those corrupt countries

Playing devil's advocate here.

When the Jews fled from Germany and Eastern Europe in the 30s, should we have sent them back?

I emigrated to Northern Virginia from Pennsylvania. I found a great job here and learned more than I would have learned otherwise. Do I have a moral obligation to return to my po-dunk town in Pennsylvania and make it a better place?

I'm not a fan of massive immigration, either. It doesn't seem to be a good idea in the case of South America, where the numbers seem overwhelming at times.

Netherlands is finally getting it, but no the tide is not turning. There are already too many Muslims in Europe and their birthrate is very high. This should have been done in 1985, then the tide could turn. It is too late.

"the soldier would be asked to pronounce the town of Scheveningen. "

I visited there a few years back and heard the same story. If I had to pass that test to prove my authenticity I would be sunk. The sound is somewhat like trying to clear my nose and throat of a foreign body at the same time while speaking a word. It is a beautiful city and I always wanted to go back and take my wife. This is very good news for the Dutch and Europe in general. We need to follow suit and fast.

"Here in Alaska, my Albanian taxi driver told me last week that the U.S. could never deport 14million Illegals"

You must live in Anchorage. I moved to Wasilla a couple of years ago after retiring from the USAF out of California. Two of the reasons I moved to Alaska was its conservative reputation and to escape the madness of the left coast. For the most part I have found that to be true except when visiting Anchorage. I am impressed by the large presence of non Americans. Between that and the new boy mayor of the left I am starting to worry about my state.

You are correct to BE worried.

I first came here for the first time in '64 and the changes to date are clear to me.

Alaska is still pretty conservative, in the rural areas, but with the constant, steady increase of Fed/State/Muni secure bureaucratic jobs, the evil liberals continue to expand their socialist influence.

That's how Boy-Begich, or as I call him, Photo-Radar-Mark, managed to move his way up through City Assembly.

Not only are their HUGE numbers of Illegals here, the local Libs, and their social-programs eagerly support them in their victim status.

Also note the number of Haaavad/Yaley/East-Coast Slacademic Grads who come up here to get involved in politics.

For relief, be sure to plug into 650AM KENI Rick Rydell's show everyday 6-9AM. He's a former shock-jock who discovered his conservative roots when he hit 40. member. .

I hardly miss a day without Rick in the morning. We have met him at several events and the guy has an incredible memory. As for as the liberal onslaught goes I agree. Incredibly the local paper here in the valley has been co-opted by the Anchorage Daily Knowles contingent and I can't even read it anymore. My wife and I provide two new conservative votes to conteract the thousands of gimme gimme types moving in. Hope we can make a difference.

You are referring to The Fontiersman?? !!! Their Editorial staff have slide off toward the 'Darkside'? If so, I'm sorry to hear.

Have a good friend in Palmer who used to shoot pics for them.

FR is a good resource for facts, and to hone ones journalistic skills to apply to the Letters to the Editor. Give em Hell, and keep us posted.
