I am wondering why the writer felt the compunction to say this. Why is there no mention of the fact that Malvern is part of the Main Line, which consists of the most exclusive and affluent suburbs in Philadelphia? It's probably not a coincidence that someone like Kerry would be attracted to a young woman with that kind of background.

Not all of Malvern is what I would consider "affluent". There are many middle class areas, especially inside the actual borough of Malvern.
