We always start at Vera Cruz with a second invasion on some point of the Rio Grande (see War of Texas Independence, War of 1848, Pershing Expedition, and various Marine landings).

see War of Texas Independence, War of 1848 The Texas Revolution was in 1836. It was the Mexican-American War that occurred in 1848. I'm quite familiar with both. My current position is less than a quarter mile from the spot where General Zachary Taylor first camped south of the Nueces River.

Actually the Mexican-American war started in 1846 and ended in 1848 with the treaty of Guadalupe Hildalgo negotiated in 1848.
