This was originally published on Free Republic on the day, and this quote has been resurfaced by a couple of posters with good long-term memories, such as skip2myloo.
I thought it deserved its own thread, given the circumstances.

"We are being tested here," said Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass. "Let's tell the American people we are not going to cover up and we're not going to have a double standard."
But that was then. This is now. (Besides, Packwood was a Republican.)

Excellent,
However, DemonRats only use these standards against Repub's and Conservatives. I am sick of the double standard.
The internet will eventually counteract the blatant hypocrisy of the left.

Good catch.
Wonder what Kerry had to say, either about Clintoon's womanizing or during his Impeachment.

Hope devoutly that this quote is thrown in his face as well as those he used to protect Clinton in the impeachment proceedure.
Spineless and gutless (re)publicans need to be shown for what they are. May all of them, Hatch, Frist et al, be ejected. Newt and Packwood bowed out along with others but the dumbo party allows all the Dems who are even more guilty to stay on a "pass".

Good work. I'll bet you can't wait until NewsMax repackages your find and labels it a "NewsMax Exclusive!"
Keep up the great work!

As Sen. Barbara Mikulski, D-Md., the only woman on the panel, put it: "We are not the Senate select committee on voyeurism. ... We need access to the facts, and we need to be able to follow all leads."
Hey Barb, does this apply to those memos too?
