John Kerry Sex Scandal: U.S. Media Blackout?
MND Newswire ^ | February 13, 2004 | Mike LaSalle

Posted on 02/13/2004 9:31:09 AM PST by new cruelty

According to news reports across the Internet and in various international publications, Democratic Presidential front-runner John Kerry may have had an extramarital affair with a 22-year old blonde intern.

As first reported by the Drudge Report on Thursday, a full-scale investigation into this is underway at Time Magazine, ABC News, the Washington Post, the Hill, and the Associated Press.

But the real story today may be the lack of coverage by the major American news media.

According to a story published today in MensNewsDaily.com, "A source at one of the major television networks (said) that they are specifically forbidden to talk about (the Kerry sex scandal) on the air until one of the other major television networks reports on it first."

A quick search on Google News at this hour shows that only two major U.S. newspapers are running stories on the emerging Kerry sex scandal: The Philadelphia Daily News and the Chicago-Sun Times.

Yesterday, MensNewsDaily.com (MND) posted a brief story on the Kerry sex scandal, but the story was never indexed by Google News. The last time Google News failed to index and MND news item was when MND published the name of Kobe Bryant's accuser.

Internationally, the Kerry sex scandal story has been covered by the UK Sun, the UK Telegraph, various Australian papers.

The New York Times today published a piece defending Kerry against Republican attacks, declaring "the beginning of what party officials said would be an attempt to undercut Mr. Kerry's reputation at a time when he is riding high from repeated victories in primaries and caucuses." The Times piece did not mention the sex scandal by name.

According to an exclusive report released overnight by political gossip guru Matt Drudge, Kerry is preparing a response to the groundswell of questions surrounding this developing story.

On the morning radio here, the story was given about 10 seconds and called "an internet rumor".

>>I wonder how long she'll stay in Kenya.<<

So long as the ketchup money keeps rolling in.

I wrote Heinz Corp. sometime ago that Hunts was my ketchup now even though I'd been weened on Heinz. No more Heinz products, TGIFridays, or Boston Markets either.

So long as Americans continue to fund TheRAYza by buying the products that bring her the big $$$, she will continue to fund all sorts of of leftist organizations including the doofus she married.

The media won't touch this story unless kerry is 'caught in bed with a dead girl or a live boy'.

I hope this DOESN'T pick up steam. I'd much rather have the Jane Fonda and his traitorous stuff picking up steam instead.

This is ridiculous and the same crap that was with Klinton. Lewinsky got on the news. CHINA did not.

Do you really believe the liberal leftist media would find anything unusual or "wrong" with finding Just For Kerry in bed with a live boy?

For that matter Teddy got caught (more or less) with a dead girl and it didn't put a crimp in his career as a senator. What's with Massachusetts anyway?

The issue is that just how responsible is engaging in an affair after having seen and experienced what Clinton pulled?

With them, it's all about what you can get away with doing, and it's not limited to matters such as these. Clinton got away with it. Responsibility has nothing to do with it - it's the avoidance of consequences that matters.

I think Fox is the only network to get a pass for not reporting it.

Obviously it is not good journalism however, Fox has a reputation for right wing bias. If Fox "broke" the story it would play wight into the hands of the VRWC.

I called CNN and was told that they were being inundated with phone calls about this. CNN said they were "researching" it still.

I also called ABC, MSNBC and CBS. I had to leave a message with their viewer response area. However, NBC News (including Today show) viewer response voice mail was full and not taking any more messages.

Something tells me the media is going to come out of this looking worse than Kerry.

Rather odd that many foreign media has no problem reporting it. I wont let Hume and Fox skate on this one.

'caught in bed with a dead girl...

There was a time when John "F'n" Kerry was called John "The French-looking" Kerry. I saw a post earlier in the week that
France allows marriage between a living person and a formerly living person.

So, they press will just play Bagdhad Bob. Again.

If the woman chooses not to come forward, which is her right, why would there be a story here?

Supposedly a friend of the woman "came forward" to a reporter and related "fantastic stories" about the affair. There has been mention of letters between the two.

Now IF there is at least one reporter in possession of such information, I would call that a story. Not necessarily an airtight case, but, still, a story.

Especially now, after Kerry has denied it.

And how often do the media wait until a story is airtight before they run with it? Answer: Practically never. Witness the media's shameless behavior in pursuing the baseless smears of the president's Guard service.
