Glacier Lake in Alaska wouldn't even exist had it not been for glacial recession. But not all glaciers ARE receding. Depends on the glacier and mid-term weather.

Quote from the above site:
"Understanding the non-climatic controls on the behavior of calving glaciers is an important problem if we want to use the historic and contemporary record of change of calving glaciers as indicators of climate change. And this problem is especially important in Patagonia where almost all of the outlet glaciers are (or were until recently) actively calving into fiords or freshwater lakes."

Newsflash:
Greenpeace discovers dramatic evidence of Summer in January
Environmental experts have found disturbing effects of pollution, causing Argentina to experience Summer in January! Local conservatives with ties to the Menem regime make the outlandish claim that Summer has been happening in January in the Southern Hemisphere for as long as they can remember.

"These oil-industry shills are ridiculous," Greenpeace activist Ima Hagg exclaimed, "I was in Brazil in July just two years ago and it was plenty hot!"
