There would be no infighting if Bush had simply acted like a Republican. Contrary to what most bots think, I don't take pleasure in bashing our President. I like and respect him. But enacting policies of the left is something I think is worthy of being critical of. Politics is the art of compromise. But not when its favored to the Rats and espcisally when we have nominal control of all 3 branches of the Fed gov.

The Republican Party has ONE CANDIDATE this year, the year of our Lord, 2004.
We ARE going to elect him to the White House.
If you choose not to help, fine.
But, for the love of God, STOP FIGHTING US.
He IS the candidate, period.
And if you don't want to vote for him, fine; go find yourselves another candidate and vote for him.
BUT GET OUT OF THE WAY -- we are NOT going to sit here and let you people hand this country back over to the Democrats so they can destroy our security.
Period.

From an idealistic standpoint, you are absolutely correct. The world would be great if we could get 100% of what we want all the time. It would be great if Bush closed our borders, reformed the tax code, cut government programs by 1/3, reformed Social Security, etc. etc. etc.
From a practical standpoint, you are wrong. One thing is for certain. We will get NONE of the Conservative agenda advanced with a Kerry or Gore in office plus we will surrender to the UN and most likely see terrorist attacks on this country that make 9/11 look like a minot event. Oh, and did I mention the judiciary. The one gift that keeps on giving. Even when a Dem is not in office or when the Dems are out of power they can count on the radical judiciary to legislate a liberal agenda from the bench. Abortion on demand, wait till you get a load of Doctor assisted suicide on demand.
All I know is that love it or loathe it, when a Democrat is the President, the left lines up behind that guy no matter what. In many ways, Clinton was to liberals what Bush is to Conservatives. For example, Clinton enacted welfare reform and that enraged the left, BUT still, they stood behind him in lockstep. I loathed the Left for standing by that guy and all his moral and ethical failings. but the liberals made a cold hard judgement, namely, with Clinton in office, their agenda was more helped than hurt.

Yep, I believe the author of the article had you read perfectly. Obviously if you had blind loyalty to Principles you would know that you have to make progress toward the ideal in our governmental process steps at a time..... nothing comes all at once.

There would be no infighting if Bush had simply acted like a Republican. That defines the situation rather well. I don't hear anyone (Republican) bashing Bush because he is too conservative, or even because he is primarily conservative. Quite the opposite.

Gore should give this speech at the convention. Why not? Why not stand up and give vent to all the poisons hatching in the muck? Why not tell America that Bush lied about everything, that he took the country to war for reasons he knew would be discredited, just so Halliburton could make another buck or two? It's what they seem to believe, after all. The delusions of their fringe have become articles of faith for the mainstream. Bush was AWOL! Bush knew! Bush lied! Bush never flosses! Skull and Bones! Plastic turkey! At least we'll have a clear choice in November. Bush is serious about the war. The Democrats are serious about the war against Bush.
Some conservatives are on the Democrats' side in the war against Bush.

Some people don't even bother to read the article and just shout their knee-jerk mantra of how President Bush isn't conservative to their ideals.
