There would be no infighting if Bush had simply acted like a Republican. Contrary to what most bots think, I don't take pleasure in bashing our President. I like and respect him. But enacting policies of the left is something I think is worthy of being critical of. Politics is the art of compromise. But not when its favored to the Rats and espcisally when we have nominal control of all 3 branches of the Fed gov.

Look, whether you like it or not, Bush is Bush; your whining is not going to change.

The Republican Party has ONE CANDIDATE this year, the year of our Lord, 2004.

We ARE going to elect him to the White House.

If you choose not to help, fine.

But, for the love of God, STOP FIGHTING US.

He IS the candidate, period.

And if you don't want to vote for him, fine; go find yourselves another candidate and vote for him.

BUT GET OUT OF THE WAY -- we are NOT going to sit here and let you people hand this country back over to the Democrats so they can destroy our security.

Period.

I have not decided if I'm voting for Bush or not. I will likely hold my nose and do it. But this Republican has gone from a broken glass Republican Bush voter in 2000 to a very reluctant, betrayed, and battered potential Bush voter in 2004. It will not be ME that hands the country back over to the Democrats. It will be President Bush, Karl Rove, Ed Gillespie, and the RINOs in Congress who have betrayed a large segment of Republicans who will lose the election.

Despite what you or they think, they are NOT entitled to anyone's vote. They have to earn it. And if they betray some Republicans they have not earned their vote. The fault does not lie with the voter but with those who betrayed the voter. It is a bad idea to say that if someone or something does not meet your standards you should just lower your standards.

Some of us are not going to sit here and let you people hand this country over to Republicans who do not uphold the traditional principles and goals of the Republican Party, who are not conservative, and who have and will continue to propose, pass, and/or sign laws which further the erosion of our sovereignty and freedom and continue the course of creeping socialism. Maybe, just maybe, President Bush and the Republicans in Congress will listen to the discontent of the grassroots and change course in time for the election.

But bullying us, telling us to shut up, shouting us down, brow-beating, calling us "traitors" if we don't pledge our vote to Bush right this second will NOT win a single vote. Instead you might want to put some pressure on Bush and the Republicans in Congress to reverse the policies that are angering so much of the grassroots. Either that or admit to yourself that those who are angry are such a tiny, powerless minority that their votes don't matter to the election of George Bush - and if that is the case you should not waste your time trying to change the votes of that minority. But then you have to ask yourself how many conservatives you really think should be disenfranchised to elect one man. And then you need to realize that one day, as more and more conservatives are considered too "fringe", too "extreme", or "unappeasable" are cut off, you may find yourself on the fringe and you'll get the same treatment from the more "moderate" or "practical" conservative Republicans who will turn their backs on you just like you turned your back on us. Meanwhile, America will continue on its path toward socialism and complete loss of sovereignty.

Howlin, we need to get you elected to something. You ROCK!

I think Bush is using a refined version of the Muhammed Ali "Rope-A-Dope" move. He needs to lull the sheeple back to sleep so they stay home, secure in the knowledge that, no matter who wins this election, PBS will continue to broadcast Barney and Juan the pool boy will continue to show up every Tuesday and Thursday. He needs a veto-proof majority, and he doesn't need fence-sitters getting nervous and voting for democrat senators and representatives just to "give the ticket balance."

Bush is seen by the general population as tough on terrorists, maybe a little squishy on domestic issues, but overall, not a bit scary. In spite of the shrieking by the media, no one really believes Bush is poisoning the water or starving granny. He's just a nice li'l 'ol country boy unwise in the ways of the big city, not some radical conservative hell-bent on installing Moses himself on the Supreme Court.

If I'm wrong, and Bush DOES turn out to be a squish on domestic issues, he's STILL head and shoulders above any dem candidate the rats come up with.

So, because I think these past four years were not so bad at all, I'm going to vote for Bush. That's not the message the rock-headed conservatives want to hear, but who cares. They're going to stay home anyway, so we can quit trying to placate them and spend our energy on something that will do some good, like getting Bush his veto-proof majority.

Isn't it odd how the "principled" conservatives aren't content with just not voting for President Bush ? If they mean the President no harm why don't they just speak their minds and then drop it ? But, noooooo, they're here everyday, peevishly repeating themselves ad naseaum. Obviously, the validation they'd hoped to receive for their "principled" conservative position isn't happening. If I were a skeptical person, I might think its really about them instead of ther "principles".

Frankly, I don't see a dime's worth of difference in democrats like Kerry, McAuliffe, Gore, Clinton and the 'principled' conservatives. They all proclaim their "patriotism" out of one side of their mouth while deliberately distorting the President's every action out of the other side. Should one or both succeed the end result is the same... a democrat in the White House and an open invitaton to every murdering, bloodthirsty terrorist around the world. So there is zero difference.

"Look, whether you like it or not, Bush is Bush; your whining is not going to change."

Not necessarily true, my FRiend...after hearing the unrest of fiscal conservatives after the SOTU address, Dubyuh switched his proposed growth in discretionary domestic spending from 4% to 1% annually and has proposed cuts in--or elimination of--some 128 federal programs. IMHO, this is good for the Country, the GOP, and fer Dubyuh. Thanks be to the so-called "whiners."

"The Republican Party has ONE CANDIDATE this year, the year of our Lord, 2004. We ARE going to elect him to the White House. If you choose not to help, fine. But, for the love of God, STOP FIGHTING US."

FWIW, I do not believe I--and other constructive criticizers--am fighting you and the BushOrBusters. We are simply fighting against the un-conservative domestic policy proposals that are floated by the Bush Administration. I've been working some 20+ years to get a GOP POTUS paired with a GOP Congress and it's simply not acceptable to finally accomplish said goal only to see us enact the DemonRAT's Agenda on far too many issues.

"He IS the candidate, period. And if you don't want to vote for him, fine; go find yourselves another candidate and vote for him. BUT GET OUT OF THE WAY -- we are NOT going to sit here and let you people hand this country back over to the Democrats so they can destroy our security."

For me personally, it would be a travesty to allow a DemonRAT become Commander-in-Chief when we are smack dab in the middle of a very important War on Terrorism. That said, I believe it is equally important to assist in providing pressure from the Right to counteract the Milquetoast Moderates within the Bush Administration who are far too willing to compromise away conservative principles in a desperate effort to attract votes from folks who simply don't like Dubyuh and probably never will.
