[history]
When you are a conservative and tend to support conservatives, it will come as a surprise, and an unwelcome one, when you ding one, as I dinged President Bush the other day about his "Meet the Press" performance. Of those who responded, about 60% disagreed with me, and the rest were more or less in agreement. Many of those who disagreed with me said they thought the president had done well with Tim Russert, that the interview made clear his decency and sincerity. Others said I was kicking the president when he's down and that's the problem with conservative pundits, they can't be trusted. My answer is the obvious one: It is the job of a writer to write the truth as he sees it, and if it's an uncomfortable truth, then so be it.

If your faith is in the 'law', no wonder you're upset. Bottom line, I don't know a SINGLE SOUL who 'obeys' the law in the full sense.
Where did you get this at. I have NO faith in the law. The law by it's very nature is corrupt.
It is you who has blind faith in the law by following Bush off a cliff like a lemming.

I'm a lemming? Ok, last chance PCJ.
A nuke anywhere in N. America will cause a HUGE economic depression. Leftists WILL come to power. Is that what you want?
Are you going to answer this point or not?

YOUR paragraph is superior to Noonan's. I urge you to send it to The Wall Street Journal. They might even consider replacing her columns w/YOURS.
Peggy's breathless prose does not move me. I personally think she needs to get out more and meet some real people in the heartland. Hanging around Chris Mathews and surrounded by other media types, she gets a severely narrow view.

He told me the president was in the office at 6:45 a.m. and usually leaves at 6 p.m., so everyone got to go home. I found this remarkable. Not that I hadn't heard it before, I had, we all have, but I thought it was spin. I didn't know it was really true. Huh?
To: Paul C. Jesup
Playing with the numbers does not help your arguement. What numbers guy? You're telling me a country the size of Japan or a little place like Tawain is on par with the US?
Get real. Seriously. Get real.
You have no conception of the power and might of the US if you think Japan is more powerful than we are. Or any other country.
To: Prodigal Son
Are you daft? Are you bloody daft!
Not really.
Have you not been following the bloody news? There are nuke weapons supermarkets out there guy. Are you comfortable with that? Seriously, politics aside- are you comfortable with that?
Not really, and I have not been comfortable since Clinton gave our nuclear secrets to China.
So, basically, there is no effective difference between you and the Jihadis?
Now that was uncalled for.
As long as it kills people with whom you don't politically align yourself- this is ok?
No, it is: 'As long as it kills people who are trying to enslave and destroy us.'
Let's be honest, government itself and both political parties in D.C., barring a few curtent politicans, have declared law-abiding taxpaying citizens their enemies, and they are doing everything in their power to enslave and destroy both our lives and our culture. The only difference is that the Dems will stab you in the chest, while the RINOs will stb you in the back.
Is it just me? This is sick.
Yes of course, I stated that very plainly in my last post.

Oh really, you need to know that Japan holds around one third to one quarter of the U.S. Bonds dealing with the national debt.
They hold our collective balls in a vice, because they could call in those bonds anytime they want too.

This is what you wrote in reference to a terrorist attack on New York City, USA:
Look at it logically, if a nuke blows (by forgien terrorists) in a city full of socialist control-freaks who support the destruction of the rest of this country, including US. Then in a sick way, wouldn't that be a postitive event for the rest of us.
Do you stand by this?
To: Prodigal Son
Do you stand by this?
It is them who want to destory and enslave us, if that was NOT the case, then I would wish them no ill will.

The way the laws work in this 'free' nation, if I directly answer you're question, I may be subject to be thrown in prison without trial.

However, I agree that we should criticize her call for fear.
Those in the midair Coyote phase who still think churning equals travel, won't be looking down anytime soon, which means Noonan's derision is a given. Fair enough. Reading a Peggygram sucked 95% free of treacle is its own reward. I like her better this way. Pile on. We'll make a pundit out of this cheerleader yet.

Well, you either stand by what you said or you don't.
If you don't stand by it just say you don't.

Give me one pundant that knew more than a third of the information that is true/relevant/prescient that the FR as a whole is able to gather??? Name one??? There is only one writer I can think of, Mark Steyn... Haven't you heard? Steyn is also persona non grata here at FR after a couple articles critical of Bush. Apparently, like many posters here, Steyn and Noonan are Moby plants. They've been staunch conservatives for all these years, but suddenly have become extremists.
Weird how that works...

It's only been three years since the Clinton's were in the White House. Bush's base hasn't forgotten and will not forget those 8 long years. Just show a photo of any dem candidate with bill & hillary and the Bush base will be knocking each other over to get in to the voting booth.
We can dream about a brighter future or return to the past.

Nailed in one! Oh yes, and she's a hack. Yet just a few months ago you seemed to enjoy what Peggy Noonan wrote. Heck, you even thanked JohnHuang2 for directing you to her column. Surprising that you'd be interested in reading the ramblings of some "hack". Weird...

Completely ridiculous sir. WMD was the MAJOR Reason we went to war. Not Humanitarian, not because Sadaam was a bad guy, not over 9/11 - though Bush hinted at that strongly as well. Complete GOP talking point spin eater and spouter.

I haven't finished reading the thread, but, it would be very hard to improve on your sentiments. Bravo.
