signed up today, posted anti-bush hit piece. Mods have visibility into IP addresses etc of users. When new accounts are repeatedly set up and banned from same IP addresses, the mods are able to spot and Zot them pretty quickly.

Mods do not have that visibility.
Jim does, however. And he can see other aspects of a user's footprint from their http request headers.
