Jose Padilla, an enemy combatant detained at the Charleston Consolidated Naval Brig in Charleston, S.C., will be allowed access to a lawyer subject to appropriate security restrictions, the Department of Defense announced today. Arrangements for that access are being coordinated.

Private Mail to be added to or removed from the GNFI (or Pro-Coalition) ping list.

The Bush administration has ignored this issue for too long. The best way to deal with this issue is to set up a terrorism court, with judges and defense lawyers with security clearances, to allow trials for American citizens charged with terrorism.

Interesting, a process for treatment of renegades will be there for the examination of the court.

I've heard this mantra before... "he will be allowed access to a lawyer" but he never gets to see a lawyer.

Unless the Pentagon is about to lose big time in court, the DoD will continue to drag its heels.

Who would have though a U.S. citizen could actually have a right to an attorney? Hrmph, some pansy police state this is turning out to be. Come on Bush, get your people in gear and deny this man his rights!
