My thoughts exactly. Looks like someone has volunteered for a few days of live-fire drills. Jolly decent of them, don't you think, to offer your boys such an opportunity ?
To: Tailgunner Joe
That would add a taste of realism to the exercises.

America's doormat in the region.
Hummm I wonder if they would prefer to be speaking Japanese? Much like the French, the Filipino's seem to have short memories!
He said the rebels will attack American or Filipino soldiers if they stray into their lairs or provoke them.
Not too bright are they?

Communist guerillas on islands call their shots, eh?

Time to wipe our feet I'd say....

No insult intended....

Yep - the NPA may be in trouble. Dunno if the other major tangos in the Phillipines (Abu Sayyaf, IIRC) are in the area, but this exercise could be a chance to get the troops in position to make those terrorists good terrorists.

None taken, you big bald birdie ! lol
I'll say, these rebel guys are really swell. They rear their ugly head just when heavy ordnance comes their way... Jolly decent of them, we should drink in memory to their departed, brave-but-misguided souls after the end of the military exercise.
To: Tailgunner Joe
Their ideological brethren were responsible for 100 million murders in the 20th century.
Communists, in seeking to abolish virtually every human right, renounce their humanity, and should be dealt with as such.
In other words, they should be treated the way plague-carrying vermin are treated.
