Daschle has to be going NUTS!

Isn't Daschle yet another dim Dem who used to be pro-life until it became impossible for anyone pro-life to be a Dem on the national level?

No. Instead the child should be executed for the crimes of his/her father. Obviously...

Sometimes it's hard to detect sarcasm through online text. This isn't the case here. ;)

Is killing it the answer?

Is the extreme trauma of an abortion the answer to a rape?

Has there ever been an an abortion performed to "save the life of the mother?"

There are many doctors who claim that no abortion is ever necessary to save the life of the mother.

I have heard the PBA procedure was not ever necessary to save the life of the mother, but I don't think there are too many doctors who claim abortion is never necessary to save the life of a mother. Pregancy is a dangerous thing and mothers do die, so I would be skeptical about that claim.

There are a lot of heart breaking stories. What about that 8 year pregnant by a 40 something man. (Posted a few days ago)

Idaho tried to pass same type of law a few years ago. The NAG group tried to boycott our Potatoes.

We got it through the House and Senate, but the Pro-Life Governor Andrus Vetoed it. Said it wouldn't make it though the courts.

I would question why it doesn't mention what would happen in the case of rape. Should a woman that was raped have to carry that scumbag's kid and deliver it to the world?

See the lady on the left? She was raped. See the lady on the right? She's the 'product' of the rape.

Now tell me after seeing this photo that the lady on the right should have been cut to pieces before she was born.

There are many other families that would love to have a child. No matter how much of a scum bag the father was!

Hence, the end of any chance of running for President in the current Democratic. His silence only indicates how stifled he is in today's RAT party.

Go South Dakota voters!

Actually, I was being sardonic.

Same difference, though.

What will make it a non-starter is if they did not address the life of the mother.

From the article: "The Bill mandates that physicians make every effort to preserve the life of both the mother and her unborn child."

Note that it does not exalt the life of one above the life of the other. The physician is to do what he can to save both, but if he can't, he can't.

I'm very happy to see this. Hopefully, South Dakota will take note of the fact that courts can only strike down individual cases, not laws directly. So when one case is dismissed on appeal, the law yet remains on the books. Even if there isn't a single successful conviction under this law, SD should still overload the federal courts as much as they can until this constitutional issue is dealt with fairly and squarely.
