I do not disagree that the are is not safe, but I haven't seen any of the arm guards you refer to.

There's thriving families there who desparately want the drugs to be OUT.That will only happen when dealers start showing up DEAD.

This is, of course, horrible.
However the media and governments will probably overreact by passing laws forbidding guns within 2000 feet of schoolyards or some such, and consider the problem solved.

The noon news is now reporting the boy is still alive but in VERY critical condition and in surgery .. he has a lot of damage to his skull from the bullet
Also .. he is 10 year old ... the shooting occurred a block away from the school

It's really sad what's happened to Philly.
Due to work, I've been up in this area from time to time. It's truly the worst neighborhood in the city. Sadly, it's young black males standing on corners, expensively dressed, dilapidated housing, and bombed out factories.
There was a time when this demographic could have been gainfully employed in the now bombed out factories, however, jobs pushing brooms are given to our illegals, manufacturing jobs are done by Chi Com slave labor, and rap music has taught a generation that work is for chumps.
This is the residue.

THERE WASN'T EVEN A REPUBLICAN OPTION!
Likely, that will be the case again. I'm attempting to get on the ballot for State Rep in the 186th district (some Italian Mkt area, west to Grey's Ferry), but due to the chaotic state of a Republican rich ward (Grey's Ferry) it looks like we're going to come up short of the 300 signatures we need to get me on the ballot.

Sounds like Central Brooklyn, although housing in Bed Stuy is still in better shape than even the white neighborhoods of South Filthadelphia.
Is Grey's Ferry still a Shanty neighborhood (not that there's anything wrong with it Paddy)? ;-)
