While I was on active duty, as Shipyard Duty Officer on weekends, I REGULARLY saw people in for weekend Reserve Duty.
They'd go find a desk. Run their assignment. I couldn't tell who they were (now) for anything.
How many came through? Couple hundred in five years.
Never had to tell the CO - It wasn't even really a even a "base access" list problem: They'ed already have an ID card to get on the Yard. All they needed from us was a place to work quietly for that day.

Just a thought. I wonder if we should organize a VVAJFKerry event to coincide with Rolling Thunder, which is held in DC at the end of May. I am confident the vast majority of Vietnam vets, like myself, would be anti-Kerry. Great theater and great photo-ops.

It is so obvious that no one in the dim presscorps has a clue about national guard service. Kerry should since he was in the Naval Reserve from 1972-1978. None of his staff seem to have a clue either.

Robert, my friend,
Thank you for the ping. I immediately copied and sent this back channel to Rusn Limbaugh so I am SURE he has it. p>John / Billybob
