Not that I'm a dem - Virginia has open primaries and I thought it was my duty to vote. Well, not exactly. I've served as an election official here in VA. Unless the rules changed again since the last primary, you should have had to sign a Voter Affirmation form (or something like that) stating you would only participate in one of VA's primaries. (Note: It's possible this rule was not in effect since Bush is unopposed on the GOP side.)

I signed no form. I walked in. Got some instruction in the new computerized voting machine. Voted for Dean and left. Took five minutes. I've voted in dem. primaries before. I've never signed any form of any kind.
