Probably the saddest aspect to any new organized coordinated attack is that after an initial period of panic (which could be brief and as little as a few hours), I would expect that the rank and file in the americas will begin to take their frustarations out on anybody who remotely looks Muslim or Mid Eastern.
That will be a very wide net - it will probably snare and victimize many Indians and Hindus, innocent Muslims, and some sad folks who bear even a superficial resemblance to people from that part of the world.
If a coordinated attack victimizes americans in significant numbers (and the benchmark here is the 3,000 victimized on 9-11-01), say 10,000, 20,000 or 30,000 nationwide, I think things will get very ugly, very quickly in the hours after such a formidable attack.
A shame. I hope we avert such a disaster but I think another attack is inevitable. I don;t think the reaction I am describing is inevitable, but I feel it is likely.

I'm more worried that the reaction will be, "we brought it on ourselves", "we deserved it", "we had it coming", etc.

Hey, payback is a Hillary!
(FR would justifiably censure me if used the correct saying, so I had to use a synonym for the forbidden word.)
