I assume you are lurking to review the thread... Oil? We knew we would never get any oil. Why did we go in? A combination of factors -- WMDs first and a desire and a NEED to establish a northern ME democratic foothold. Look at Libya and Syria dinkface -- this is a winning strategy. We went in to protect the livelihoods of people like the one who started this thread. Of course, they will never, ever realize that.
