If guilty, lock her up and throw away the key.

I admit from the gitgo that I think Martha is a bitch, but I also admit that the government is worse. I truly believe, from what I have seen, albeit leaked by the government prosecutors, we have a great deal more to worry about the government than we do about some ego-maniacal bitch. It is not a crime to be either a bitch or a person who denies publicly that one is innocent.
Be very careful, folks, about being comfortable with her prosecution for declaring her innocence, lest it be you some day who, because you declared your innocence, you are accused of stock manipulation or fraud or whateverthefuck the government says you did. Be nervous, be very nervous - do not gloat - there but for the grace of God, go you.

Why are the feds prosecuting someone for receiving inside information, anyway? Isn't the criminal the corporate official who acts on knowledge that the public doesn't have? Not defending Martha but let's face it, she is small potatoes. I'm sure if the government really looked they could find some bigger fish doing a lot worse. My hunch is they're not trying.

The guy defends her against the charges of insider trading but ignores his own words, to wit: "by making false statements about her ImClone sale, she was illegally trying to prop up the stock of her own company, Martha Stewart Omnimedia." He, of all people, should know why she is being prosecuted. He just stated that what she did was illegal.
