The Republic National Committee plans to hold its national convention in New York on Aug. 30-Sept. 3. City Councilwoman Gale Brewer plans to introduce a resolution calling on the RNC to denounce the NRA.

IMHO, Gale's gonna be disappointed. I just can't envision the RNC denouncing the NRA.

Of course, stranger things have happened (we have a "conservative" president pandering to the criminal aliens and offering them amnesty), so who knows what may happen? We live in unsettling times.

Me either. I shudder from the obvious repercussions if they do...

I've read the proposal, have you? I can't seem to find the word amnesty used it the context of the offer at all. Do you have a workable plan to deal with 10 million or so illegals?

Abortions kill more people than guns what is their stance on abortions.
Automobiles kill more people than guns.
Alcohol and drugs kill more people than guns.
It is the idiot behind each one of these instruments not the instrument itself.
All good folks need to pull out of New York City!

"Do you have a workable plan to deal with 10 million or so illegals?"

Yes-quadruple the staff of the INS's immigration law enforcement division, then find'em and deport'em ALL.

How the heck did NYC end up with two horrendous choices for Mayor, esp. after seeing what a great job a moderate like Rudy G did for the city?
Ultra-Liberal Bloomberg and Ultra-Ultra-Liberal What's-his-name? - How did you guys let that happen?

From the Department of Justice Statistics on weapon related violent crime:

Not sure if a weapon used = 6%
Total NON-firearm = 17%
TOTAL FIREARM (from Saturday Night Special to Atomic Cannon = 9%
NO WEAPON INVOLVED = 68%

Where is the concern for the 68% from the bleeding heart pimps of the election industry?

"City Councilwoman Gale Brewer plans to introduce a resolution calling on the RNC to denounce the NRA."

The buck-toothed B-word is a DemonRat. Who the F does she think she is trying to get the RNC to do anything? I suggest she propose a resolution asking Bill KKKlinton not to rape anyone while he is in NYC.

The Republican Convention needs to be moved from New York. I can see no reason, no reason at all, to reward a city that is so consistently and blatantly anti-Republican.

A "workable solution"?

Well, yea....a good start would be to enforce existing laws.

Rudy, bless him, was a very liberal Republican. A conservative CAN NOT be elected in NYC. Not no way, not no how!!!

find'em and deport'em ALL

You're going to need 18,181 max capcity 747 sorties or 181,818 Greyhound bus sorties once you get all 10 million centrally located. Or if you prefer, do a little research into 20th century German history and figgure out a way to use rail cars. Not only is it a logistics nightmare, it's also damaging to our national soul.

As far as locating the illegals, just what do you think the guest worker permits would do. It gives us the ability to find and identify the illegals in an orderly manner without resorting to SWAT team tactics.

Part of the proposal was to get congress to strengthen border control measures to prevent further incursions. A lot of people miss that part and jump rigth on the mythical amnesty offer.

Some people complain as if all 10 million of them came in after the 2000 elections. They fail to recognize that Bush is the first President to actually address this issue. I think the plan is workable. The 'round 'em up and deport 'em' plan is basicly a knee jerk reponse similar to the ill thought 'logic' we got from the 'nuke Afghanistan & Iraq' crowd.

a good start would be to enforce existing laws.

Given the scope of the problem, just how would you do that. You are going to have to think past platitudes.

laws = platitudes?

Wow....where to begin.....

Do a search on this very website....I'm not gonna do your homework for you. There are more than a few workable solutions.

The only "problem" is that there about 4 or 5 polititians on a national level (and no, GWB isn't one of them), who actually see what's coming down the pike and have enough balls to try and do something about it.

Good grief, who would want to even GO to NYC? The place is way too crowded, too noisy, too smelly, and there are only "Left" turns allowed.
