There's just no competing with Ryan's million-watt smile.
Or his chiseled good looks.
Or his toned body.
Easy there, Stacy St. Clair!

I saw all of the Illinois Republican candidates in a debate a couple weeks ago, and this article is true. Ryan just has that look to him. He has a very charming personality, and he does look like a movie star. I hope he gets the nomination, I think he has the best chance to win (not because of his looks, however).

Reading the article, you can almost hear Stacy ovulating...

. . . no one with facial hair has won the White House since newspapers began publishing pictures in 1903. Not so:

Won in 1904. . . . . . . . . .Won in 1908.

Let me get this straight: These guys are all Republican candidates seeking the nomination for a U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Peter Fitzgerald (R).
Anyone know who the good guys are among these Pubs and who's the likely Rat opponent? And what are the chances ? - seems's like a Dem state.

Dr. Kathuria is handsome and smart in his own right, but, standing next to JACK, it's tough.

How about a shave and remove the rags? I don't think we need any of that. He's a Sikh.

Sikh men are specifically required to wear a turban (and carry a small dagger as well) at all times by their religion.
It's much more direct and specific than the various Islamic pseudo-requirements for clothing, which are more derived custom than explicit rules of the religion itself.

Those poor old guys don't stand a chance in the primary.

Doesn't matter what he is. If he wants to be an American, he has to choose between nonsense and the real world.

Anyone know who the good guys are among these Pubs and who's the likely Rat opponent? And what are the chances ? Those questions have debatable answers.
I just see a primary where there are several solid conservative choices:
Jack Ryan, investment banker-turned-teacher
Andy McKenna, paper company prez
Steve Rauschenberger, respected state senator
Jonathan Wright, state rep (longshot)
... and then there's Jim Oberweis, who claims to have had a conversion on the pro-life issue after previously likening pro-life views to those of the Taliban, and who has suddenly discovered that he doesn't like illegal immigration, just in time for the primary. My view is that Oberweis will say anything he thinks will get him elected, and that he is not to be trusted. Then there's Gen. John Borling, who's unabashedly pro-abort, and pro-draft, too, which is a little odd.
As far as the general election, I think the Republicans have good candidates and will be competitive with Ryan or McKenna, at least, and I like our match-ups against the Democrat candidates (the D primary is wide open). I think Jack Ryan is the most electable, and he's a strong conservative, so I'm supporting him.
There have been no match-up general election polls, at least no public ones.

It's the same with an Orthodox Jew or Hasid, complete with yarmulke.
People who can't accept those differences in religious custom are the ones who have no place in America.

Agree. I can't find anything in the Constitution that says a good American can't grow his hair long and wrap a turban around it. Or wear a yarmulke and sidecurls. Or wear sandals. Or or or. Let's not let our anger with the Islamonazis be extended to everybody who doesn't wear Ralph Lauren shirts.

Reading a few threads here from last summer about Ryan, there were those who were hinting the guy is gay (divorced, hadn't remarried, kinda danced around gay issues questions), Is that still going on? Or has it become a non-issue?
To: Leroy S. Mort
Is that still going on? Or has it become a non-issue? Uh, no. Maybe some of the male FReepers just found him attractive and started wishing?

I'm confused...
Isn't Jack Ryan a history professor turned CIA analyst turned President of the United States?
