President Bush appeared on "Meet the Press" on Sunday in an interview that pundits believe is the start of his campaign.
Monday, he left the White House to fly to Missouri for a speech on the economy. It is also the day his "Economic Report of the President" was sent to Congress along with a letter in which he highlighted salient points.

"I don't think America can stand by and hope for the best," the President said. Bush suggested Saddam may have destroyed or spirited out of the country the banned weapons the Bush administration cited as a main rationale for the war.
"I expected to find the weapons," Bush said in an Oval Office interview broadcast Sunday.
"Sitting behind this desk, making a very difficult decision of war and peace, I based my decision on the best intelligence possible," the president said.
The interview was taped Saturday.

The photos from his speech in Missouri have not appeared anywhere yet but I thought I'd start our day with the pictures that I've found so far.
As usual, I'm leaving and will return in 4 hours and post the rest of the photos available at that time.
Welcome to sanity island.

Since heart disease is the only "cause of death" in my family, I thought I'd post the following. We all need to pay attention to our heart, our lifestyles and be aware of the symptomology of heart disease.
Supporting The Heart Truth campaign, Laura Bush and her staff celebrate the first annual National Wear Red Day in support of women's heart disease awareness, Friday, Feb. 6, 2004. The color red is worn to symbolize the commitment to fight heart disease and to educate every American about the power of prevention.
On February 2, Mrs. Laura Bush hosted a women's heart health event at the White House to announce American Heart Month and to preview a number of upcoming activities designed to raise awareness of women's heart disease. Mrs. Bush highlighted elements of a Presidential Proclamation, signed by President Bush during the event, declaring February as American Heart Month and Friday, February 6, 2004, as the first annual National Wear Red Day in support of women's heart disease awareness.
The event also launched The Heart Truth Road Show, which will take off in March and travel to Chicago, Dallas, Miami, Philadelphia, and San Diego. Women will have the opportunity to attend a heart health exhibit and participate in a risk-factor screening program. The Road Show will provide screening for 1,000 women at every stop.
Sponsored by the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services , through the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute of the National Institutes of Health, The Heart Truth is a national awareness campaign that warns women of the risk of heart disease and the need to take action against its causes. The focus of the campaign is women at mid-life, the time when their risk of heart disease starts to increase. But the message is also for women of all ages. Heart disease develops over time and can start in the teen years; and older women, even those who already have heart disease, can take action to lower their risk.
The primary message driving The Heart Truth campaign is: Heart disease doesn't care what you wear -- it's the #1 killer of women. The campaign pairs the message with an arresting visual image -- the Red Dress -- to reinforce the fact that heart disease isn't only a problem for men. Introduced in February 2003 in New York City during Fashion Week, the Red Dress symbol has ignited a desire among women, community groups and organizations to spread this lifesaving message to women across America.
The Basic Facts:
The Heart Truth is: Heart disease is the #1 killer of American women. Yet most women don't know it. One in three American women dies of heart disease. Most women do not take heart disease seriously -- or personally. To have a healthy heart, it is critical to know the risk factors for heart disease. They are high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, smoking, being overweight, being physically inactive, having a family history of early heart disease, and age (55 or older for women).

Hello, TNT!
Very nice pictures, but just one question--Just HOW do you expect me to get the laundry done, get stuff out in the mail, and cook for my family when you've posted these wonderful pictures for me to gaze at? :-) (you know I'm kidding!)
THANKS!

To anyone who is wondering where Laura was this weekend--
She was on Regis and Kelley this morning! Nice interview, focusing on her Red Dress/Heart Health for Women program. She said she'd been in New York all weekend with her daughters. They saw several musicals/plays, did some shopping, ate out. One of the twins had an interview in NY this morning, the other one might work overseas when she graduates from college. She was attending some even this afternoon, relating to exercise, I think.
Hopefully then back to the White House; I miss seeing her with George! He just looks better when she is around. :-)

Well, I put this up and then I run and work!
While I'm out working, I'm always wondering what photos I'll find when I return.
If I had to work in the house, I don't think I'd get a thing done. I don't envy you but here's some hope - I won't be back for about 4 hours so you do have a window of opportunity to get some work done! HAR!
Me? I'm leaving. Shortly. I just found the text of Pres. Bush's economic letter and I want to post it.

RE: Women and Heart Health
Another very important factor of heart disease and women; women can have very different signs and symptoms of heart disease than men. Women may experience burning or upper abdominal fullness, neck and shoulder pain along with chest pain, rather than pain in the chest radiating to the arm, which is more typical for men. According to the Jan. 2004 issue of RN magazine, most women (95%) have symptoms a month or more before experiencing a heart attack. The most frequently reported symptoms were unusual fatigue, sleep disturbance, shortness of breath, indigestion, and anxiety.
Acute symptoms (immediately prior to the heart attack) were shortness of breath, weakness, unusual fatigue, cold sweat, and dizziness. Women--take care of yourselves, and listen to your body!
