As one Jew, I will make my mind about it after I see it.

Yeah, I think it should be a call by the parents. If the violence is going to freak out the kid, it's not worth it. Save it for when they are a little older.

I don't mind the grim part, but I wish Mike would lose a few pounds. I hope he's around for awhile.

Savage is probably about my height, about 5'3". I saw him at Cosco once. Long before I listened to him.

People who claim the movie blames any particular group for crucifying Christ miss the entire point. Human beings crucified Christ. I wish people would stop trying to assign ethnicity to it.

I'm about 99 percent convinced that I'm going to back up and punt and let Mom decide. Sometimes being a spineless jellyfish has its good points.

"How will radical Muslims use this film? Will they seek to turn Christians against Jews?"
CHances are good that this film won't be seen in a lot of Muslim countries in the Middle East. The local censors will crap all over it as being "proseletyzing"(sp) and it won't make the theatres as a result. So there's some question as to whether the radicals will even see it.
But you never know...

Oh, God. Or his wife.
On second thought, I hope he's not reading this. Could be a grumpy day in radio land tomorrow.

From what I'm hearing, the crucifixion is depicted brutally (read honestly), and I'm not convinced yet that this is fare for young children.
We have an old 19th century Bible on our shelf that features an illustration of David holding the head of Goliath. Shreds of flesh hang from the giant's neck. I understand your fear, but I think it's one peculiar to the post Alan-Alda-Sensitive-New-Age-Guy era. Seeing the burden of our sins visited upon Christ's body might be more healing than it is wounding.

<< Michael appears to have some severe health problems. >>
FRom what I've picked up around the traps I'd say none from which he couldn't be Recovered -- given, that is, five years or so of total abstention from alcohol and from all mood altering substances and Absolute Surrender to the principles of Alcoholics Anonymous -- and most particularly to the Principle of Anonymity!
But drunk and sober Mr Savage has absolutely the very finest mind ever applied to what he does and with all his warts -- and even including the areas in which he is stupendously ignorant and/or misinformed -- Trade, for just one example, I love him.

Yes... isn't it interesting that people who have few passionate sensibilities about anything, much less provocative violence in film, suddenly find themselves apoplectic about a movie called, the "Passion."
Why? ...Are we to assume that Leftists (Jewish or otherwise), suddenly really care about the safety of a people that they openly despise (re: Israel)?...Or that they are genuinely concerned about truth and facts (re: Bowling for Columbine)?... Or that they fear the provocation of violence through imagery (re: The Matrix).
If you find that you are facing a contradiction, check your premises... you'll find that one of them is wrong.
What then is the source of their fear? ... of this movie? ... of it's message? ... and its timing?
... or is the source of their fear, Christ himself?
