That is a tough headline to decipher pre-caffinated.
I couldn't tell whose face was shot off.

LOL
Speaking of face-offs, it wasn't a hockey game where a shooting broke out.
That's what happens sometimes in Pittsburgh when you give somebody the finger.
Tough town.

First mistake.Yeh, you're right, big mistake turning around.
But, it was a big mistake by the bicyclist flashing the finger at a TRUCK driver. Afterall, look who has the attempted homicde charge against him.
I wonder what he did with the gun, since he denied having possessed or firing a weapon. ;)
p.s. ..... Those bicyclists can get on your nerves sometimes. They ought to all get together in an area, buy up a few cheap acres of land, and build themselves a bike trail, and stay off the streets and roads.

The cyclist screwed up. If he had shot the truck driver through the windshield and claimed he was trying to run him over, he would have walked. Both got what they deserved.
The cyclist must have tossed the gun or the truck driver was a real idiot getting in a fight with him after already being shot once.

Signs you may suffer from Road Rage
For lack of a more effective weapon, you find yourself threatening other drivers with the cigarette lighter.
You exchange your Uzi with laser sighting for a "more serious weapon."
You've stopped wearing pants in the car to make it easier to moon tailgaters.
On your license, under "restrictions", it says, "Valium Required."
That Yugo hood ornament on your 4X4 is not *actually* an ornament.
You threaten to run over the person in front of you, even though you're in line for communion.

By the way, I don't know why someone is riding a bike in Pittsburgh at this time of year with all the "potholes" in the roads.

Road rage story..........
A father, who worked away from home all week, always made a special effort with his family at the weekends. Every Sunday morning he would take his daughter out for a drive in the car.
One particular Sunday however, he was so full of cold that he really didn't feel like driving at all. Luckily, his wife came to the rescue and decided that for this week she would take their daughter out.
They returned just before lunch and the little girl ran upstairs to see her father. "Well" the father asked, "did you enjoy your ride with mummy?"
"Oh yes Daddy" the girl replied, "and do you know what... we didn't see a single bastard!"

Somewhat unrelated, but it seems like its always a truck/SUV puttering along in the left lane refusing to yield to faster traffic.
Are there any of the aforementioned offenders here? Can you explain yourselves?

They screwed up by not living in Texas. A finger, or words don't justify deadly force. But if you put hands on someone with a gun, or run into them with your vehicle on purpose.. they can shoot you. In Texas, our bicyclist would be No-billed. In Texas, you start a road rage incident that involves violence, you're likely to wake up dead.
A friend of mine rides his bike a lot. Carries at all times. Usually only has to show the gun to get rid of creeps in pickups who don't like bike riders.
An armed citizenry is a POLITE citizenry.

A Monroeville bicyclist ....who pulled a pistol... This is no "bicyclist". A gun is too heavy for bicycling. This is a guy whose license was revoked for DUI most likely.

Everyone has a right to use the roads. Bicyclists, as well as pedestrians and horses, were around before motor vehicles.I didn't say cyclists don't "have a right to use the roads". If you would read (carefully) I said they "get on my nerves sometimes".
I used to be a cyclist, and rode the roads in the local parks. Even then, I knew that I was a pain to the people in their cars, trying to stay in their lanes and at the same time avoiding my sorry a** on the bike and the oncoming traffic.
Bicyclists belong on the roads only when there is plenty of room. This is not Paris, or a rural European road.
