bump!
President Bush may not pursue every policy we hold dear, but his job right now is to present a foreign policy in clear terms, gain a consensus, and them reap the vote -- a full mandate. If he succeeds in doing that, then we can hope for other things. But polls prove that he has to be careful, and I support that caution with respect to domestic policy if it helps him get the vote.
There was an element of directness in his replies to Tim Russert that we can all claim as 100% democratic. He was asking the American people to support his point of view distinctly in opposition to other, less resolute positions. We have the choice. In November, 2004 we will decide as a nation: do we stand or fall? Choosing Bush will mean an opportunity for another thriving 225 years for our republic. A choice for a Dean or Kerry will put us at immediate risk for steady collapse.
In his interview with Russert, President Bush clarified what our choices are, and I'm sure that as he continues to campaign they will become even more clear. This in great contrast to the accusations that he is a manipulative and deceitful leader. I would characterize other candidates who have said the war on terror is an exaggeration in those terms instead!

Great summation! Well said!

Worth repeating.
