Thanks for articulating my feelings.... Russert didn't say one positive thing. Not ONE. I thought his interview was terrible, almost disrespectful, and the President did a great job with his sincere answers. Yes, it was Russert's was of asking the Questions. He wasn't asking questions it was he was TELLING us how things were... they the Pres had to defend himself. He had the Pres on the defense the entire time... time and again. I thought it was an AWFUL job done by Russert, and a GREAT response given by our President under terrible conditions..... and Russert was in the White House.
Smooth sailing. He doesnt have to talk to them anymore. They had their chance, they blew it. Bush will talk to the American people from now on, and the Media can pound sand.
Gracey -- you are 100% correct and I would add that I think his questioning was disrespectful of the President and phrased in a way to get out the DemocRAT Talking Point papers for Kerry. If people cannot see that, it is because they don't want to see it.
IMHO, the President did a terrific job of getting his message across to the American people. I don't want some slick talker as President -- I want a President that loves this Country dearly and wants what is best for all Americans and doesn't govern by sticking his finger in the wind to see which way it is blowing.
When Russert brought up the new tone and used Daschle, it was just one more RAT Talking Point Paper and Pres Bush hit it out of the park. Didn't take a genius to figure out where the blame lies -- right at the feet of the Clinton DemocRAT Party.
Believe that President Bush did an outstanding job in the face of an obvious hostile interviewer that if I closed my eyes would see he was reading from the Clinton Talking Point papers for his interview. I love the fact President Bush is a plain spoken man who speaks from the heart -- if people cannot see that, then they are not opening their eyes and I guess prefer a slick talkmaster that spins and lies instead of telling the truth.
My thoughts on this interview are that I would say Boo, Hiss to Russert for his lack of respect for the President and BRAVO to Pres Bush for being able to stand up to this attack questioning. President Bush once again has made me very glad to have supported him for office since 1994 when he ousted Ma Richards as our Governor and made the liberals angry -- that same anger that you see today from the DemocRATs and their friends in the media started in 1994.
Today I live by one slogan for this Presidential campaign when it comes to Pres Bush's campaign -- LOSING IS NOT OPTION!
