You're right about that. As an interviewer with almost one hour alone with the president, Russert failed because he acted as a stand in for the Democrats rather than an independent interviewer.

Score this one for President Bush.

Yes I agree. Russert did a disservice to the nation in ignoring illegal immigration and the culture wars.

A question and a followup on WMD would have been sufficient. 45 minutes on same belied an agenda.

I expected Russert to do just what he did,and he never lets me down.

Let us see his next interview of Kerry.It will not be this tough.

He did not bring honor to himself with this interview of the President.
