I think the dems made a bad move by forcing the president's hand early now. With Kerry sewing up the nomination, he now got to survive 7-9 months of constant bombarding of ads and the negative press he will eventually get. If it gets too bad, the Democrats may ditch him for someone else at their convention. Hillary maybe?? (shudder)

But what is most amazing is that somehow the white house political team seems surprised that this is happeningHow are they acting surprised?

Wonderful idea! I suffer from the same compulsion as onyx. Putting it on my shopping list now. Hahaha. Guess what I found in our 4-year-old's toy box? Bright yellow darts with orange suction cups and a really neat little pistol. Ready, aim, fire, I am all set for next Sunday.

Ok I apologize for jumping the gun. I should have erred on the side of caution and seen that you were quoting someone else.
Yeah all the RATS who voted for the way to stay on the good side of the Zell Miller democrats are trying to weasel their way outta their vote now. It's fun to watch.

Campbell says TIME mag asking tough questions "Does Bush have a credibility gap" and off she goes to interview a TIME reporter. Matt Cooper. There are like a thousand more entries on this thread so it may be addressed later, but if no one has mentioned it, Matt Cooper is Mr. Mandy Grunwald, Clintonista for life.

The Dems on the FEC are stonewalling this one. So what will the Republicans do? If they go ahead and it is later ruled it was illegal, the Dems will say *both sides do it*. If we don't do it, then they have the advantage and count on being able to spin it afterwards to their advantage and prattle on about *political speech*.
Personally, I think we should go ahead w/the 527s and damn the consequences. That will make the FEC sit up and take notice.

Yeah, I was born in '53 and pulled a sub 20 number. The lottery started in 1969 with the 19 year old pool -- thus it started with the 1950-born. There were three more lotteries. 1951, 52, 53. Mine was the last year. Although I was very eligible, I pulled a 1-Y.

I'm usually cringing when Bush is not reading from a teleprompter. He's appallingly inarticulate.Hmmmmm, I and many others observe that he's better on his own and speaking without notes. I also think he's grown and gotten very good with a teleprompter. But your assertion is simply not backed up by the record of his press briefings and interviews.
To: cyncooper
no unified strategy to counter it. as others have pointed out, Cheney is in hiding, the senators they send out to the talk shows are people like Lott and Hagel, they seem to be in "rope-a-dope" mode right now.

In your professional opinion, is there justification for asserting that the Left suffers from a collective form of boderline personality disorder/narcissism? Your question was not directed at me, and I'm not a doctor, but I think you will find the following quote interesting:
"David Brooks said he heard somone introducing Kerry at an event and they said 'This election is about the future and not something that happened in New York two years ago'. "
There are people who still have not gotten over the election of 2000 (heck, they also haven't gotten over the McCarthy hearings in the early '50s). If it is something about them, it is a big deal. On the other hand, 9/11 was something that "just happened" a long time ago that the left can dismiss -- while "lifestyle" issues like gay bishops and taxpayer-funded "art" are an obsession on the left. The left really hates Presidend Bush because he reminds people that the orgy is over and people had better grow up and think about survival. And just look at the anti-globalization riots to see "adults" having infantile temper-tantrums.

LOL!!! Nothing special that I know about. Just Sunday morning news shows, with enough democrat guests that'll syrely make me mad enough to shoot the TV with darts.

Iraq is as huge as California!!! How could every square inch of that place have been searched .. and maybe 20, 40 ft. down????? This issue just makes my blood boil ... if he had them at one time, something was done to them .. the question is what, and where they were placed. In a country of this size, and with the many nefarious connections of Saddam, this could take years. To hear all the pundits whine about 8 months and no WMD is ludicrous, and we need to keep adding the word, "yet."
