I had to double-check the date on this. I could swear I read the identical article last Summer, the first time Kerry was considered a possible front runner. Same shrugging, what's-the-big-deal? smoochy piece. I didn't buy it then, either.

Call us old fashioned, but we really prefer first ladies who don't say "shit" to journalists in formal interviews.

She visibly tenses and once she literally shrugged him off of her when he put his hands on her shoulders. Then she sort of grimaced and shrugged again. Then went further and brushed her shoulder like he left some sort of "cootie" on her. (Sorry, I spend lots of time around little kids!)

Kerry has been relatively successful so far from keeping his whackjob wife out of the news. Rove needs to bring Laura Bush to the forefront at the proper time thereby forcing Kerry to drag out Mrs. Heinz in all of her technicolor glory. That alone should be worth a few percentage points in the polls as many Americans will recoil in distaste, questioning his motivations (money) for marrying her as well as his judgement in marrying such a fool.
The ideal situation is to somehow bait them into giving joint interviews where Kerry's reactions to her foolishness can be recorded. As much as we despise Bill and Hillary they were quite adept at manipulating the public during their joint interviews, it required a great deal of political acumen from both of them. A series of joint interviews by Kerry and Heinz would eventually explode in their faces because Mrs. Heiz does not have the reptillian self control of a Hillary.

What we want to see is a contrast between poised classy Laura and a foul mouthed whackjob.
If you are reading FR Karl Rove, get Laura to the forefront at a critical time. After the Dem convention would probably be best as it would negate any Kerry rise in the polls, or you could save it for the last two weeks as part of a blitz. Have reporters follow Lady Heinz around constantly seeking interviews. She's a ticking campaign killer waiting to go off.

Teresa was a relatively close acquaintance of mine when she was in Pittsburgh with John. She's not what she seems. And her connection with Kyoto was a youthful indiscretion.

If their inheritance was set up within a trust, which I suspect is the case with so much money involved, then they are most certainly set for life. Kerry wouldn't be able to get his fingers on assets with a trust. In addition, I'm more the certain Hienz would have taken all precautions known before marrying again. Kerry may very well have been forced to sign an agreement gun point. ; )

She is tired, and I don't think she IS happy. (She is 64 afterall.) She is conflicted, I don't really think she likes Kerry too very much. (If you have no memory of John Heinz, he was a beautiful, unassuming, intelligent Republican man, and Kerry can not hold a candle to John Heinz, and I think she becomes more aware of this every day.

If you are wondering why she never split from Lurch, I dontt know. I would guess..........inertia....you know how that can get when you get older ....... and stuck,and too tired to move on! ;)
