Thanks to the generosity of anonymous donors, free "Catholic Care Packages" are now available for our military troops. Each packet contains a New Testament, a handmade rosary, a religious medal and small crucifix that can be worn on a dog chain, a Catholic prayer book, two holy cards and a booklet on how to pray the rosary. This packet is provided and sent directly to the designated Catholic troop at no cost to you, as a way of spiritually supporting our Catholics in uniform. Click the picture to order. |

The Fisher House program is a unique private-public partnership that supports America's military in their time of need by providing homes close to a loved one during the hospitalization for an unexpected illness, disease, or injury. There are currently 31 houses located on the grounds of every major military medical center and several VA medical centers. These houses will play a critical role in caring for casualties from Operation Iraqi Freedom. Donations will be used to help meet the cost of lodging for a family whose loved one was injured in Operation Enduring Freedom or Operation Iraqi Freedom. There is a limit to the number of families who can stay in a Fisher House and program is committed to help provide lodging for families who must find commercial lodging, because the Fisher House is full. |

Lord God, bless this thread this day as freepers around the world find the peace that passes understanding on its many posts. Continue to guide 68-69TGYC and strengthen him in his resolution to provide a wholesome site for soldiers, old and new, and for their friends and supporters.
Finally, Lord, please keep our precious military members out of harm's way this Lord's Day.
We pray in Jesus' Name; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen.

A FReeper who wishes to remain anonymous asked me to relay this message.
"My sister was laid to rest today (on Saturday.) The Honor Guard was there to ease her and her family into that good night. Please, thank all those folks at the Canteen who prayed for her and for us. I am sure they made all the difference as to the peace she had in her final adventure.
The good men and women of the Honor Guard deserve our recognition and support. They stood with us today, in the freezing cold, with snow howling around us, to comfort us and bring dignity to their deceased brother. God replied with a brilliant display of sunlight in the midst of the flurry. Please, let the Canteen know how much the Honor Guard has done for us. They need to continue to give of themselves to future needy families of our veterans and current warriors. The Honor Guard does this volunarily.
God bless them."
